As the East End is the site of the Olympic venue I think this could be a good initiative. The boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Newham have a combined population of half a million and not a RL side in sight. Some Canary Wharf types set up a Union side in Millwall (Isle of Dogs) and it has gome really well. There used to be a East London side based in West Ham a few years ago but it died the death. The East End is the only place where our professional London RL sides have never played and therefore there has been little development work done with the exception of the good work done in the Far East as I call it by Hainault. I am sure it would get a lot of publicity and I know there has been some schools in the area who played the game from time to time.
