Some people on here will still not believe it unless they see the signed contract.

I view it as a real positive.
That alone is enough to ensure I take a load of flack from some quarters.

Some people on here will only believe it if they actually witnessed said contract being signed! :D

It's now just a matter of time before the 'Homeless in 2016' thread.

I actually view it as a positive.
What I don't believe is beneficial is the fact that the 2nd year option had to be renegotiated and the Landlord was always in the "box seat" in such negotiations as there was little alternative for the club to accept his terms. As such, the marketing budget that the RFL donated to the landlord in 2014 has now been replaced/underwritten by David Hughes, so as in the year just gone, the only revenue the club will receive in 2015 will be from the RFL/SKY allocation......which does beggar the question of what we'll do in 2016 when the central funding is less than 30% than we will receive this year (unless of course we are promoted    )

As I have said to others, I was impressed with the Hive and its facilities. I believe they are perfect for the club that we have become and division we are now cemented in, but I suspect the RFL hierarchy will have sleepless nights should we ever look like winning the million pound game as the Hive is most assuredly not what Knock-Down Nigel et al see in their vision of a SUPER League.

I still believe the blind devotion that certain fans have shown to the club after the absolute clusterfiicking mess that Hughes and his African Gimp made of a perfectly serviceable SL club is deserving of ridicule. Flack? Nah....it's not Flack. It's a healthy dose of realism, which some of you 40+ year old males need to have administered with your flue jabs every year. I suspect that there will be considerable less of you in attendance in 2015........but this will be spun as a positive by the remaining few......and Dr Gutterfax will be there with your annual inoculation of reality.

As I said at the start of this thread. The Hive weren't happy to carry on with the 2nd year option as was negotiated with Blake Solly and I stand by that assertion. The collective masturbation at the implication that I may have been wrong embarrasses a fair few posters on here.....and you are most definitely in that collective. :SUBMISSION:

You also said, in your second post in this thread:

Indeed I did.........it's a shame you choose to selectively quote though. What I actually said was that the RFL had bribed the hive by giving them a "marketing budget" as well as for th getting all the other income too. I claimed that it was a short term fix put into place to get the SL fixtures fulfilled for 2014......I have seen or heard nothing to prove me wrong.
The club is dead post this year.......Hughes should hang his he's in shame at what he has done....and before anyone claims that Hughes has saved the club....all he's done is spend money in all the wrong areas and ignore advice from every quarter because "it was his club"! The game is bigger than our dying club and certainly bigger than an egotistical oil broker......it is a crying shame what has happened to the club in the last 7 years.......

You also said, in your second post in this thread:

Indeed I did. I was maybe a tad over-zealous in my prediction for the demise of the club, but it would seem that Mr Hughes has decided to continue to bankroll the club indefinitely.

Unfortunately for the club and its supporters, this means 2nd tier League in a smaller venue against less fashionable teams, with less supporters in attendances and a snowballs chance in hell of either attracting new investment at the level required, nor sponsors of the caliber to lift the clubs profile.

This of course will be applauded by some as us "finding our level", but the applause will not be heard as it will be from regular fans that number in the low hundreds.

And whilst you're reaching for another box of Kleenex, I suggest you temper your unbridled joy at both a second tier existence with my being wrong as to the death of the club with a healthy dose of realism.

We are now a 2nd tier outfit that is 100% reliant on the benevolence of 1 man......nothing has changed other than the division we play in, our attractiveness to cash paying customers and our market value to sponsors. Victories over lesser teams will be hailed as proof that we are better off........
........yet I recall a season 10 years ago that saw us stick 70 on Wakey, Leigh and Widnes (well close) and make the play-offs....it was the season we nearly folded but one that ended with real hope for our future under a new owner, in a new ground with a new name and real prospects. We has a national brand as our shirt sponsor and the word "partner" in terms of an associated company didn't exist. We had close to 4,000 fans and "we were LONDON". Now we are a team watched by 40+ year old men.......akin to a sporting version of Train Spotting. RL is an acquired taste...we've all tried to get our friends to games over the last 30+ years and now all that's left is the bare bones......I won't be overly zealous this time, but I will say that whilst victories over Halifax and Hunslet will keep some happy, the "some" will be less than those who preferred to watch us play Wigan.....even if it was to get hammered....and gradually that number will reach the level attained by the skolars....a team that had less than 10% of our support back in 2005......

So grab your Kleenex and enjoy the moment. The truth is I was warning the club, its owners and its fans that this would happen since before I even attended a game and no matter if Hughes's guilt keeps us afloat for another 10 years or more, I was spot on.
