I think we are in a worse position this year than we were last year, as far as I know we have not signed a player. Other clubs in the championship have been re-signing players and signing new players. Last year the club did not sign any good players who dropped down a league, they signed a couple of loan players from Wigan (Hankinson worked out really well) but mainly signed acadamey players who did not have enough experiance for playing 1st team championship games.
As I see it we will not be able to attract ex super league players as they will not be able to afford accomodation in London. I would guess most of the northern players live at home with their parents, rent at a lot cheaper rates than they can in London or have their own houses so who is going to move to London for a season?
It amazes me how the likes of Brough, Dixon Hall, Atkinson etc etc can be classed as part time players, I bet they are not out working full time and training at night for their clubs. The other question I have are the other championship managers part time? Our new coach now has 3 jobs how can he put enough time into running a championship side?
This time last year I was informed by one of the club officials there will be plenty of players in the market to sign, look how that worked out.
