Know a few Broncos fans are Spurs supporters. They would know what it is like.

Cant see the problem with it going to spurs, it's a brand new stadium and state of the art. Personally I thought the Olympic stadium was a poor venue in location and venue layout.
Wembley is fine but it's probably driven by cost as much as anything. What sort of interest they can generate will be a reasonable indicator of the state of the game! With CC and GF numbers down another big event that requires travel for the core supporters of the game might effect total ticket sales.
As for the turf suffering, RL tends to do less damage to the grass than football

Not a problem with the pitch. Spurs have 2 pitches, a grass pitch for football and an artificial pitch for NFL. Guess the will use the artificial pitch for the RL game.

Many people from London may attend and enjoy the game. They most likely are not aware that RL has a team in London and that they could see more of the sport there, if they so desired.

Short memory here......London broncos are back.

Gus spent thousands on an ad in the England v NZ programme in November 2013. 67,500 fans there that day which resulted in now fan-base growth......pointless name change followed by a pointless ground move, followed by relegation, followed by another move.....the only thing worse than no marketing is BAD marketing.

I would not bother advertising in the program. Instead I would go for a presence outside the stadium, from which you could promote the club. There are many ways you could do that.

It was on the big screen. I'm not sure we paid for it

Moving from The Stoop was a money saving scheme and naturally the name needed to change from Quins

Relegation again was DH cutting costs- that team got threw together too late it was good enough to stay up.

The move from the stoop was a lot more than just money saving. Reality is the tie in of the 2 clubs never worked.
As for the marketing efforts and choices made that's an eternal discussion that's gone on and will go on for ever on here, what's good what's bad what's affordable!
Again it's nothing that we can do much about, it's up to the club.

Thought things were going ok until Bloodgate & the subsequent departure of the Quins Chairman & CEO. Then once Leneghan ran off to Wigan it was Blockhead v Hardhead.

Attended a Quins Debenture event in the City sometime later that year & was chatting to the RU marketing team. They claimed the RU side were quite happy (well they got a good deal out of us) but the RL side were becoming increasingly difficult to deal with. The rest is history.

Couldn't be more wrong if you tried. London Broncos largest average seasons gates other than in the first year were achieved in 2006, and 2007. They had been rising at Griffin Park and continued to rise in the first 2 seasons.......then IL, Paul Brown and one of our strongest allies in the Union benches all departed, we employed a couple of chumps as CEO's and the rest is history. £250,000 a year was the rent at The Stoop......10% of what Hughes was "investing" in the club. The rent was a smokescreen, because as per bloody usual, Hughes EXPECTED FANS TO FLOCK TO GAMES WITH NO MARKETING......

Harlequins RU averaged 11k their first season back in the premiership, we averaged 4,900 that year . They averaged 19,300 in the season just gone....we average 2,021, but yeah, let's blame "the relationship" for the near sighted pigheadedness that enable Gus to steal a wage and Hughes to f%^k us up!
For the record. The London Broncos name, nor the Harlequins RL name are the reason nobody knows we exist.......which dovetails nicely into

...utter drivel. The 400 or so who bother buying ST's for the coming championship will be 95% or more made up of long time fans. We have been at the wedding venue now for a few years and yet we've seen little if any increases in crowds and not much in the way of promoting to anyone other than the choir. Last year we saw a lift due to superleague, but the year before was sub 1k..., with no Toronto and no "estimated 1,200" for the game v Batley as we claimed in 2018, we will be lucky to draw as many as the skolars.
As for what's good, bad or affordable in terms of Marketing. In terms of the Broncos, we've seen the bad, with Oyster Card Holders handed out at Canary Wharf, we've seen good with leaflet drops in Brentford and we've seen affordable with leaflet drops in Brentford.......we didn't drop any leaflets to the Twickenham Residents, we didn't do any networking with local businesses and we definitely didn't actively market ourselves to the Union lots fanbase.......but hey, if it makes you feel warm and fuzzy believing that the name and stadium were to blame for the demise of the club, carry on.
