HOLIDAYS? : Wed Apr 06, 2022 11:34 pm
We all deserve a break. God knows after Covid and all the associated hoo-ha, everyone deserves time away from the office.

BUT. If you're CEO of a struggling semi-professional RL side with aspirations of a return to SL and a 4005 increase in crowd/revenue numbers, surely you take your breaks outside of the season, not as we enter the middle part?

I wrote:
Hi there
Noticed a few "errors" on the website and have listed these below for Key & Eagle to fix.
Also a couple of suggestions in terms of social media at the bottom....the difference in the last few days there has been fantastic.
Cheers
B
1. Sheffield game is now Saturday 16th at 3pm, not Friday 15th at 7pm. It's also not at Sheffield Legacy park.
2. Business Club page. Re-write needed as it carries an 18 month old Launch date as well as out of date contact information. Not forgetting members benefits such as program appearances and mentions on social media to mention 2 of many that will not/have not happened.
3. Team profiles. Only the 1st team feature, but our reserves and academy are already up and running whilst the Ladies will start soon.
4. Game Day. Both the Platinum and Gold lounge options have broken links to the Widnes game.
5. Fans: Supporters clubs? Given the LBSA actively contribute to the club, a mention here wouldn't go amiss? Maybe you could ask for volunteers on that page too.....volunteers used to be rewarded with a box at the end of the season at QuinsRL......
6. Alex? The guy who did social media.....Pay him to stay. Excellent reporting on Twitter and debates to be had on Social media such as Facebook although a fair amount of fans seem to have trouble accessing them?
7. Remove the bans that were handed down over the past years. You've lost long term fans who have stuck with the club over decades, just because the person running the media didn't like their comments and the sudden "activity" there shows that fans weren't the problem.

I got back:
Hi There,
I am out of the office until Tuesday the 19th of April with limited access to emails. I will respond to all emails on my return.
Kind Regards
Jason

Sorry, but no! NO NO NO NO! You run a business that operates Feb to October.....November December and January are when you take time off.......

No issues with people taking a holiday. Hope he comes back refreshed and ready to deal with the many, many challenges we have.

One of which, of course, is that we have no staff to drive off field product that will in no small part decide whether we can meet the 5000 gates and increased corporate in 5 years that justify the move to a 9000 seater as opposed to a 4000 capacity ground.

Whoever his stand-in is has managed to get Dane Chisholm in on loan, which might just save your season!

Well that looks impressive. Obviously I've never heard of him but looking at his recent stats appears to be the major missing piece for the team. Experienced, a goal kicker and proven at this level. Will be very interesting to see if he is the magic ingredient to turn the recent close matches into victories. Hopefully this is the start of seeing some wins this season.

"Such is their strength in depth, two more Rovers have made loan moves for a two week period with Dane Chisholm joining London Broncos and Kyle Trout being drafted into Dewsbury Rams’ squad ahead of their exciting Easter derby clash with Batley Bulldogs on Good Friday."

This is really good news and probably endorsed by Brian McDermott as he still has a soft spot for London. Just for two weeks though according to the article - which is better than nothing and hopefully Chisholm will help us get our first win of 2022. - https://www.seriousaboutrl.com/feathers ... eals-51609

I note that Trout has chosen to go to the Paris of the North rather than London which shows how difficult it is to convince anyone other than those from the Southern Hemisphere that a couple of weeks/months/years in our Capital city is good for the soul.

Situ clearly has a boot on him but I’m not sure about the finesse element of his kicking. Someone with more control and variety will add something to a pretty pedestrian attack. I suspect that Rovers will want him back at some stage but if we can get a month out of him that will produce dividends.
