I quite enjoyed the game last night. I went through all the emotions of despair, excitement, anger, enjoyment, incredulity, satisfaction and dissatisfaction.
2 weeks ago at the Wakefield game, I was bored to tears...a bit like watching football but last nights game was enjoyable.
The best part was obviously Ainscough's performance. It's good that the fans and player proved the coach wrong. I enjoyed Tompkins spotting the gap on the blindside to score. I enjoyed the fact that we scored from a scrum. I enjoyed Feka's charges.
And I enjoyed the conversations before the game, during the game and at half-time.
I don't like us losing but seeing talent like Ainscough gives me hope for the future.
This is a good thing, it is the final stage of the grieving process, you have gone through the
Denial (we are still the greatest team etc)
Anger (you're not fit to wear the shirt)
Bargaining (if we lose again next week, I am never going again)
Depression (Monday morning as a Wiganer)
Now you have reached
Acceptance (the realisation that Wigan as a force in Rugby is pretty well finished)
Once you have gone through the process, you can move on. Maybe you could become a Latics Supporter?
