Maybe you're right, but I can only go off what I've read on him. From my admittedly limited knowledge he doesn't sound like the kind of person I would trust with improving our team. He failed with the Wallabies, failed with the Reds, then a played a part in the success of SA, who won with the negative tactics of kicking at every opportunity and winning the RUWC final by an enthralling 5 kicks to 3.
If you can link me to some sites that detail his success in improving teams attack and creativity I would love to read them

Its an interesting one to say he failed with the Aussies given they were far from favorited to win the World Cup, i think they were 3rd favorites behind the Kiwi's who they out thought in the semi and England.
Jones suffered his fate due to the lack of quality Australian players, after the retirement of the backbone of the Aussie team after the World Cup, something they are still struggling to come to terms with today.
Jones is regarded as the mastermind behind the SA win, and he adapted a game plan to produce a winning team that brought back the trophy at the top level, with arguably again not the most talented team in the comp, harldy something he should be criticised for surely?!
He won the Super 12 with the Brumbies i think using many League style tactics to the best running rugby union comp in the world, he has shown the ability to adapt, which is crucial.
As i have said i think it would be a huge mistake for him to come to Wigan and walk into the headship unless he had an experienced number 2 to offer him massive support, or back up.
