In a weird and funny twist of events, I was having a pint in Manchester last week with a mate of mine, in the Victoria Tap and he asked a couple of women outside what was on at the arena. One of them was bladdered and starts asking where we were from and when Wigan was mentioned she asked if we'd heard of Waqa Blake and the story about him from after Good Friday. When I said I did she shouts out proud as punch 'that were me'. Nearly fell to the floor laughing! She was reet posh

its surprising sometimes how we get different perceptions of how big / small a player is

danny sculthorpe always looked quite big and blowing out his booty when he was at Wigan. But we bumped into him in the town centre one day. I'm looking at him thinking he's in great shape and looked nowt like he did on the pitch. Turns to my dad, look at shape this mons in here. Why who is he? He genuinely didnt recognise him off the pitch without the shoulder pads and bright red face , and we went to home and away matches, so not like he'd never seen him play
