On another thread, someone made the case for doing away with all this lurpack/federation nonsence, and just having 5 non british players (in france this would obviously be french). As a means to inprove th GB set up (snd subsequently french) This got me thinking A. Very few teams could do this B. It would dramatically reduce the level of Superleague in the short term so the powers that be would not allow it. But What would your team be (and everyone is fit). The rules are simple, you can have as many overseas players as you want but you can only play 5 in any given game. Im counting BRITISH BORN/COME THROUGH THE ACADEMY players here so Hanson ( he was born here wasnt he?) would count Mary wouldnt. 1. Mathers (I know dodgy start) 2. Richards. (1) 3. Carmont (2) 4. Goulding 5. Pryce 6. Smith (3) 7. S.Tompkins 8. Fielden 9. Piggy (4) 10. Coley 11. Hanson 12. O'loughlin 13. J.Tompkins Bench (from the rest of the squad but i only have one place left) 14. Feka (5) 15. Hock 16. Mclorum 17. O'carrol/Prescot on a rotation with coley. 18. Bailey. I actually think that would be a stronger side than we will put out most weeks!
Leeds and St Helens could do this very easily:
Webb (1)
Donald (2)
Smith
Senior
Donald
McGuire
Burrow
Leulaui (3)
Buderus (4)
Peacock
JJB
Ablett
Sinfield
Diskin
Lauitiiti (5)
Bailey
Burgess

As im sure bradford and other clubs could
All im saying with no relegation for the near future, why couldnt the rfl introduce this, it would not mean sacking anyone!

no foreigners at all, all sl players, so why do they rely on hicks, king, monas, rau, anderson, anderson they could get rid of all the imports and put up a better job.
bulls
platt, sherriffe, worrincy, crookes, halley, sykes, deacs, burgess, newton, lynch, cook, crossley, langley godwin, james, scruton, kopczak
not as good as wire all british squad with 3 props on bench but can also do it, just proves teams dont need any imports and they not stopping developement as much as most people make out.

I don't think it would. Yes most of them are young but the effort is always there in our academy. Plus with no relegation what do we have to lose?
