Agree with the post.
Gone backwards and we are still going backwards.
The 2000 & 2008 world cups have been an embarrassment for GB/England.
Our playing pool of British players has halved since Super League was introduced. The RFL together with the Super League clubs know this, are not bothered about it, nor do they intend doing anything to rectify it.
Prior to Super League our best British wingman was Martin Offiah, now it's Ade Gardner. That's a massive drop in standards.
When Leeds play Manley next weekend their 6,7 & 13 will be McGuire, Burrow & Sinfield. When we played Manley 1987 our 6,7 & 13 were Shaun Edwards, Andy Gregory and Ellery Hanley.
Edwards to McGuire is a massive drop in standards,
Gregory to Burrow is also a massive drop in stanards,
Hanley to Sinfield isn't a massive drop in stanards, its falling off a cliff.
Until the RFL, Super League clubs and their Chairmen care enough to throw their agendas out of the window and put our game first then the downward spiral will continue!
There was a saying about us "Lions lead by Donkeys"
What's changed?
