Latics wern't really the issue. They Kicked Off 1:30pm, it was Man City playing at 3pm. Had City not played Rugby League would have been covered as usual. I think they'd get far more listeners than Leigh, Rochdale, Oldham etc.

Not in doubt, but this has happened before. If the BBC isnt' moving rugby league around for football it's for Murder She Wrote.

Aye. I don't like it myself but its always been the case and for me its not too much of a problem because you can listen all the games online.

the everton game will be on radio merseyside and the blackburn game on radio lancashire, both available in wigan.
the 5th is on challenge cup weekend so the bbc will have two games on television. radio cumbria online
there are no wknd SL games at easter like you say. all thursday, friday and monday.
yeah we're away to wakefield on the 26th and blackburn-latics is the only north west game, with the football kicking off at 4pm. will be interesting to see what they do.

Radio Manc should never have given up their mw frequency.
They used to have 1548mw but gave it up.
I've asked a couple of times if there's a possibility of taking it up again but there's no chance. Another station has it now apparently.
Merseyside has 1485mw and 95.8fm and split every time when there's Rugby League and Soccer on. 1485mw is always RL.
Today they had full match commentary on the Wire v HKR game until the final whistle then went over to Anfield for the remainder on the Liverpool game.

The BBC have public service obligations, they shouldn't just be chasing audience share (the soccer matches are all covered on Radio 5 anyway...). Disappointing really but not surprising.
