I think you've hit upon the problem yourself. It's the fact that you smugly and arrogantly keep on regarding yourselves as 'the greatest rugby league team ever'. It's an attitude that seems to permeate the Wigan club. Time moves on, but you lot don't. You're stuck in the past and getting left behind.

This is true though. We're not just not the best at the moment (if you don't know the difference, you need to consider going to school at the weekend and throughout the holidays too.)

You are a laughing stock at the moment and you are not the "greatest rugby league team ever". I think that accolade belongs to the aussies. Oh and before you bite back he said team not club

it seems to me that it is the wigan haters that have a thing about wigan being the best, believe me wigan fans don't think that.
i used to take my son watching the great wigan teams, and he would be unlucky if he saw wigan lose three times a season, he now believes we are crap.
he now has to drag his son to the JJB because his son and most of his mates know that this team and the teams over the last 5 years have been rubbish.

We haven't become a laughing stock - we've been one for years.

Most rational people will have seen that we've been mismanaged for most of this decade and given the resources at our disposal have serially and seriously underperformed for a good number of years.

We've been missing three key apsects for most of the last five years that we'll need if we are to hope to challenge consistently again:

1. Leadership (not had it since Faz left)
2. Creativity (had it for a couple of seasons with Barrett)
3. A set of prop who put the fear of God into the opposition (not had it since the days of Smith/O'Connor/Pongia)
