Great game last night, Wigan got a stranglehold on the game from the off and never let go. Made up for Bateman (getting m.o.m.) who never takes a backward step. He is a true warrior. Not sure what his contract situation is but he needs to be secured to the club very long term.

Spoke about this last night and as I said then he needs to be tied down ASAP and for the longest term possible. He's irreplaceable in superleague terms and is worth every penny of what he'll be after. He along with Sam Tomkins, Liam Farrell and George Williams can carry this team forward past the retirement of Lockers and continue our run of reaching finals and having success.

It'd be some boost to announce a new deal in the run up to the grand final.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.

Isn't he already?

I sat on the coach after the Catalans away defeat and I posted that I thought his time was coming to an end. I'm glad to say I was wrong. He's picked the team up and they look to be over the mental scars of the last Grand Final.

To get to a final with a young side is a testament to his work and the respect the squad has for him.

Giants were very disappointing, I never thought for a moment they had any chance of winning, and I don't think they did either. Their support looked to me much more than they've brought to the DW in the past, and they deserved better.
That said, we defended very well when called on. I expected a much tougher challenge, though. In that respect, it wasn't much of a preparation for the GF.

Agreed, the only slight disappointment from a Wigan POV was that had we been a little more clinical in the first half we'd have been out of sight a lot earlier.

Re: Wigan Warriors Secure Grand Final Place : Fri Oct 02, 2015 1:15 pm
congratulations and good luck
no complaints from me, we were dreadful and i suppose i'm grateful it wasn't another 50 point hammering, we would have deserved that.
wigan did everything spot on, made very few errors, did the basics very well and were very good at earning field position from penalties, something we can't or won't use to our advantage.

gutted again, but well done wigan.

What happened to the balloons? not the 17 you put on the pitch but the hundreds to let into the air as the Giants came out?

Got the picture after we beat Rhinos in playoff semi at headingley. The Giants had lost to Saints night before and we're having an end of season drink. Having a chat with Crabtree and took a pic with my daughter. I actually like the Giants fans just Meast who goes fishing on the boards whenever there is a game coming up, I'm sure he would have been all over the board if the Giants had won
