Well at least that gives us a starting point for the debate. Are such players now on £18K or £27K? If so as the rules I linked to point out you can't have many of those on your books (who are getting first team games) or you soon use up the second tier player salary cap allowance.
I have no doubt IL has sorted the overall salary cap structure out to be fairer than it was under Mo but if people think this means the under 19's are going to be on good money I think they are mistaken. The salary cap rules just don't allow it. Not for players who are getting 1st team games.
The rules do say if players don't play any qualifying games for salary cap purposes you can pay them what you like but if IL has sorted out the wage structure so it is fair I doubt that means a 16 year old is going to be earning more than a 19 year old player when the latter is getting 1st team games.
