I've never been his biggest fan from way back when he played for England academy but IMO McShane has been the stand out hooker so far this season.
And currently leading the man of steel table. I think Richardson has taken some creativity work off him this season as for the last 2 years we have been missing gale with no quality replacement.
Official attendance just over 6000 for a club at the top against one of their nearest challengers. Absolutely beggars belief.
If Huddersfield had the same successes as Wigan have had in the SL era it might be a different story. Just be thankful you have a team that has had more than it`t share of trophy`s.
Quite simply put - Hudds offer absolutely nothing of value to SL.
There's plenty of teams that I don't like, but Hudds are genuinely right at the top and epitomises everything that's wrong with modern RL in the UK.
If only Bradford had their benefactor.
What a load of crap. First of all it is easy to follow a successful team, although I have noticed occasionally that Wigans crowd did drop below 10000 for some games and they are not pulling the crowds that they used to. Why do Huddersfield epitomize (did you notice I spelled it correctly) everything that it wrong with RL ?? Some clubs have always to be in the basement or you would have a league of 5 or 6 clubs St.H, Wigan,Warr,Leeds,Cas and Hull which would not work. And what about Bradford their crowds have gone down like a stone in water, going down a division and losing games, crowds do go down and take a lot of gaining back once they have gone, so get your brain in gear before you spout this claptrap because if Wigan were in Bradford`s situation they would have extremely poor crowds too and bring as you say nothing to SL.

Yes three in the last six years, and they were mostly "loop fixtures"

So why did your average go down in 2013 when you finished top?

I have to agree to (most) of that. It's very disingenuous and a little uppity of fans of a successful club mocking the support of a lesser successful one. We should be coming up with ideas of how to get people back to the game. If Huddersfield played in a stadium like Belle Vue the crowds wouldn't look bad at all. We suffer the same problem. Big stadiums, lots of seats, fans smattered here there and everywhere. I did notice in Hudds on Sunday a lot of families walking around in the town centre. Shopping obviously. The club should be aiming at those people. There was ano entertaining game of rugby on around the corner

It is nobodys job but Huddersfields to bring in fans to Huddersfield games and they fail miserably year on year even when doing well. Do they flood the league with local talent? Do they bring in viewing figures on tv and thus sponsorship?
Thankfully, Ken Davy isn't one of the whiny owners and does do his best to push the sport forward. One of the few that does on the other side of the pennines.

wigans average was the highest when they were near the bottom of the table under Millward and when Noble took over, I must admit that was one of the most enjoyable seasons watching us fight to survive and the fans turning up to help them
Don't rate Hodgson one bit and Roby hasnt even played a super league game yet has he? I've said it for ages that Clark should be the go to man for the no.9 jersey. Roby is world class also I'm not saying he hasn't but he hasn't played.
He's played two more games than Gildart this season (who is also in the "squad") . . . .

On the Smithies argument. I am one of those who thinks if you are old enough you are good enough. If being the record holder for most tackles on a game isn't international standard I don't know what is. Especially when we have a severe shortage of loose forwards. That could be his position for years and years to come. Especially with Knowles committing himself to Wales
Jon Wilkin has made the most tackles in SL but he won't be playing for England either.
Smithies will hopefully get there, as he grows out he'll add more impact with the ball and might then be an international player.
