So with Joel leaving, where does this leave us at this moment with confirmed players?

1. Tomkins
2. Charnley

4. Carmont

8. Fielden
9. Leuluai
10. Lima

13. O'Loughlin

14. Lauaki
15. Mossop
16. McIllorum
17. Prescott

Others: Liam Farrell / Chris Tuson / Darrell Goulding / Stefan Marsh / Dom Crosby / Joe Mellor / Jack Hughes / Amos Roberts

That doesnt fill me at all with confidence. An injury to a prop and we are in big trouble. We are also missing several key positions in the backs.

You can probably add Gil Dudson and Ben Flower to that aswell.

Fullback: Sam Tomkins.
Cover: Pat Richards, Amos Roberts, Matt Russell

Wings: Pat Richards, Josh Charnley
Cover: Darrell Goulding, Amos Roberts, Ryan King.

Centres: George Carmont

Halfbacks: Brett Finch, Joe Mellor
Cover: Tommy Leuluai, Sam Powell, Sam Tomkins, Sean O'Loughlin

Props: Stu Fielden, Jeff Lima, Paul Prescott, Lee Mossop

SR: Harrison Hansen, Gareth Hock, E Lauaki.

Loose: Sean O'Loughlin

Its obvious where the problem is there, we have jsut one out and out centre. Players who can cover are either better wingers or not ready for Super League and not showing any signs of being ready. The biggest problem is that the only centre we have will more than likely retire at the end of next year so if we dont sign one this year we will be in real trouble. Whats the point in having wingers like Charnley and Richards if there isnt quality inside them?

My vote goes to Charnley as Joel's replacement in the centre's. With Amos outside him. We're going to lose Carmont in 12 months time. The last thing we want is to be struggling for two centre's in 2013. It's time to get a long term solution to our centre problem, and for me that's Josh.

Charnley to 3 for me as well with Roberts and Goulding fighting for the 2 spot and in time King and Russell.

Goulding isn't good enough out-wide with an inexperienced Centre.

I'm not entirely convinced he's good enough at all, but that's a different debate.

Reckon Josh could be a revelation at 3. Needs to wind himself in a little in defense and keep the defensive line intact though. It seems to me that sometimes he's over-enthusiastic and to eager to be involved in a tackle. You can sometimes get away with it playing on the wing if you're timing is good but centres have to be far more careful when trying to close down a play, as Jack Reed found out at Wembley on Saturday

Not overly blessed with options though.

Another option I would give some thought to would be putting the experienced Richards outside Charnley and a more pacey option like Roberts or King outside Carmont.

I really, really like that option. :thumb:

It gives a slowing down Carmont some real pace outside him. And Charnley would get some real help and experience from having Richards outside him. Sadly it more than likely won't happen.

Charnley is an out and out winger. Keep him in his natural position where he can utilise his strengths and where he has played nearly all of his Rugby.

Yeah can't see it either.

I'd love it though. The amount of times Carmont made space for Pat this season but it came to nothing due to a lack of pace was a worry.

King could nail a spot outside Carmont and George would look after him.

Up until last season he's mainly been a centre IIRC. Played there for the u20's and also when he was on loan at Hull KR
