yeah he would be awesome if meters was all that matters. I would take mossop and dudson over him anyday. We had the best impact forward and i still wouldn't like to see us go back down that road.

Feka was at times overweight and unfit, Paea is a lean powerful forward, defence is good also for a big man, reminds me of Sam Moa who was a big hull favourite.

Like Flower, Dudson, Taylor and Lauaki you mean?

Crosby looks the real deal mind and Spencer looks promising.

Just goes to show the idea you can create a successful side entirely from your own academy is still a bit of a pipe dream. John Monie used to say if you got two first team standard players out of a junior side you had done well.

Not really; if anything what's stopping us doing exactly that now is our products are so good they're being picked up by other clubs, and even with that we're not that far short. If we can stop the player drain, I can see a full home-grown side not too far in the future, particularly once our young halves develop a bit more.

How far in the future? When we sign 21 year olds like Taylor and other young players like Hopkins it's going to be some time before they work their way through and out the other side. Then of course we can and do sign players like Paddy, Smith and Powell at the opposite end of the spectrum. I'd hope we never stopped going for players like Paddy if we can afford them.

I think we'd be very fortunate to be able to put a team together of the required quality entirely from the junior ranks at Wigan. We might have to if there is no chance of getting any star players to sign for us (and I don't just mean Aussies or Kiwi's) due to a player drain to the NRL but that is a bit different than producing players good enough in every position ourselves.
