Briscoe isn't going to be short of offers, so it looks like it'll boil down to going somewhere to be at the top and challenge for trophies at Wigan/Leeds, or make a bit more money at Salford.

I'd love to see Briscoe at Wigan, I think his game would come on another 20%. Despite this I would rather see us spending the money on a quality left centre with Thornley replacing Pat on the wing.

I'm not one for spreading rumours but I've heard from a few 'semi-reliable' sources now that Wane is off to NZ Warriors. I first heard this about a month ago and have heard it a couple of times since. I know Matthew Elliott isn't very popular over there so wouldn't be surprised to see him fired off or move upstairs at the end of the year.

Can't say I'd be too happy about Waney 'jumping ship' and taking our best player with him. Anyone else heard anything?

Wane spoke in a recent interview as though he would be here next year. He spoke of how sad he was to see Tuson leave and how he was determined 'he' wouldn't lose anymore because 'he' wanted a really strong squad next year.

May not mean much but we'll see. One thing is for sure that if Sam and Wane leave our challenge of staying up at the top next year will make this years challenge look like a piece of pi*s.

I've heard from someone that Wane will be in New Zealand next year, whether that means for next season or after next season I don't know but it seems funny how he's mentioned in interviews that he's looking forward to working with the likes of Sam Hopkins so one can only assume it's after next season.

Let's hope if Wane does go to NZW, that Sam is the only player he takes and not any of our other young stars.

If Wane does go, from the rumour I hear a few months back, a certain bald former scrum half who plies his trade down south may be in contention for the job. I hear he's disheartened with the 15-a-side code since being dropped from the Lions staff....
