when wane got this job he mentioned (quite a few times), that when he was a player and was shipped of to Leeds, it was just not the same.

He could not find the motivation or desire to play for anyone other than Wigan.

If these rumours are true. Why suddenly does this change?

Wane is Wigan through and through (or so he says) and has not yet accomplished one of the big two things you can as a Uk based Coach (GF or CC win).

If he does go, he will leave no legacy or permanent reminder of his tenure.

If it was me in his shoes, that would leave me feeling quite hollow. Success at Wigan will only raise his profile and will only help him to get a top NRL job in the future.

Unless he is worried that his profile and reputation as a coach only has a short lifespan?

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.

He could be going, if indeed he does, to further his education, with a view to return to Wigan...

Given Wane's "Wiganness" I'd be amazed if he was looking to leave the club. However, a man's to got pay the bills....

If the guy hasn't been offered a deal here and gets offered one with an NRL club he could hardly be blamed for taking it.

If that is the case and we go on and finish this season with silverware we've made a huge error. IMO trophies shouldn't come in to anyway, he's done enough to warrant a deal already. To lose so many influential players yet keep us at the top of the pile should already have been enough to warrant an extension.

Agreed. The problem is that a decision will have to be taken (?) before the GF. Imagine not retaining a GF winning coach....

Not sure i would buy into that tbh

Purely because we as a squad are in a pretty precarious position moving into next year with the loss of Sam.

Granted we have an abundance of youth throughout the entire squad, but that youth will need direction. Shaun wane has proven that he has the ability to get the absolute best out of the young lads. Principally because he has worked his own way up the rank structure and has helped nurture them from the early stages

Not sure that would or could happen with another coach.

I felt (before these rumours) that SW was more interested in building a legacy

Any other coach will be looking at results in the short term and this "could" be detrimental to youth development in the short - medium term.

This has potential to shaft us over the next few years.

Wane is doing a CRACKING job imo. I would be pretty gutted to see him leave.
