Until a signing comes over here and starts playing nobody knows how it will turn out because for every Trent Barrett there's a Matt Orford and for every Doc Murray there's a George Carmont. Supposed world class players don't always set the comp on fire and for every rumoured dud that comes over there's always some that just settle here and hit top form.
I'm still not quite getting the talk about Asotasi being this unbelievable signing. His form hasn't been great for a while now by all accounts.
I have faith in Wigans judgement when it comes to signings. We've hardly made a bad one in years now.
Orford would have been a good signing in a better side. Sadly if you don't have the players around you, especially at HB, your always gonna struggle.
Asotasi will be a quality signing because he's coming into a well structured, successful and hard working side. He'll benefit from a change of scenery as well as a lesser intensity in the games.
I'd say the same for Pettybourne as well. He's, in the past, showed quality and talent and i think Wigan will coax it out of him again. Top sides who are playing well have a knack of getting the best out of guys.
Weyman on the other hand is a massive risk and not because of talent issues but because of the team he's going to. He's not been in form recently but will be expected to be at his best from the get go. That's going to be a hard task because he's not going to have the support to do it.
He'd have been a very good signing for Wigan as we've got the environment to build his confidence up. Do Hull KR have this?
