Agreed.

Simply doesn't have the skills to play centre but he could be hard to handle on the wing.

We need another centre as currently we only have chris Dean and willie Isa, I think Stefan just needs a good run of games at centre for wigan to see fully what he's like. Goulding is another centre for me but Wigan used him on the wing, is goulding set to move back to the centre now joels gone or will we see charnley move to that spot??

Goulding has been tried, tested and failed at centre. Would rather Marsh given a shot at Wigan over Goulding. I agree though whilst i have never been a great admirer of Marsh, the potential is there. He has natural pace, which Goulding never had and if he get a regular run at centre he could well surprise me and show his worth.

That little lad on the Barbarian's right wing looked decent. They wouldn't pass to him and his side were sheite but he scored a lovely try right at the end. Sign him up Mr Lenaghan.

Agreed. Goulding seems to once once again landed the number 3 shirt by default, cos we have no one else.
He's had several attempts/lots of game time at centre and on the wing, each time proving he is decent but but good enough.
Goulding at 3 for me, simply emphasizes how badly we need another centre.


Marsh is a slightly different case, a move to Widnes would be an ideal opportunity to impress while picking up some much needed game time at SL level, hopefully he'll come back a better player.

If only Martin Gleeson kept his head...

Marsh has not got the vision to play centre , He rarely passes the ball virtually makes his winger redundant.

Goulding has barely played at centre since he was a teenager, playing in apoor team when he was messed about by Noble and often made a scapegoat. I would be very surprised if he has ever had more than a 3 or 4 game run there and he has had no where near the chances that some are making out, he certainly has never had an extended run like Joel had last year.

I agree he was made a scapegoat by Noble and hasn't had as long a run at centre as some may think but even before he was injured last year he could not force his way into the side over Joel at centre and Joel was not a centre. I think Goulding is going to get his chance this season but I don't think it is out of order to wonder if he is up too it given he could not get in ahead of Joel. He is also not that big for a centre.

I think it will be plan A for most teams to attack us down that side once again when they see the team sheet. We will have to wait and see if Goulding (and Charnley) are up to too it.

He already plays for Wigan, that was Sam Tomkins who scored the try!
