I don't care which team he supports - No public figure should be poking fun at a potentially career-threatening injury just because it gives "his team" a better chance of winning a cup this year.

How would the British public react if one of Newcatle's closest rival for promotion, earlier in the season, had lost a player for the whole year and Alan Shearer basically rubbed his hands together on MotD, laughed and said, "Ah well. One less thing for us to worry about then"?

It wouldn't be allowed to happen. So why should it be allowed for a scrote like Beswick to do it?

Bet nothing happens, although a full, public apology should be the very least that he offers.

Agree entirely.

Doesn't tie in too well with the reaction on here to Newton on Long, both at the time and subsequently, but
nobody should revel in injury to another team's player.

However, a number of electrons were mildly inconvenienced.

Hope he is only out for that long. Sad he's out for any amount of time and still a blow, but if we can get him back for then it'd be great.

Great news if he's only out for 2 months. I've sent my complaint over to the BBC, not that I expect anything to be done about it.

Thats the title of the article on wigan todays website anyway, but then they don't go on to mention anything in more detail about it.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery.......

I will look to the moment, and miraculously, the future will take care of itself.

Radio 5 Live, Sat, April 14th, 2007,...Dave Whelan, "In Wigan, rugby will always be king"

'I was certain, positive, convinced, and yet..........unsure'

'It's only rock 'n' roll, but I like it'

Worry will not prevent destiny from unfolding.

On the downside Tommy may have broken a bone in his foot, awaiting x-rays.

Absolutely phenomenal news if that's true.

I'm struggling to express how angry I am with the Alan Beswick comments for a variety of reasons.

I can't really say what I'd like to say on these forums.

Great news regarding Amos that it isn't so serious as first thought, he's been one of our stand out players this year and will definitely need him if we are to maintain our place at the top.
