Just doing a bit of sleuthing, probably irrelevant but IL shakes 3 Hull players' hands as they go for their medals, Ellis, Tickle and one other (think it's Crookes). I wonder if these are players we (or Harlequins when he was there) have talked to at some point? He and Briscoe didn't even look at each other, wouldn't you think if we had signed him they would at least shake hands? Like I say, probably means nowt

If Tomkins goes i think we will need some older heads for a stop gap to allow Burgess, Hampshire or Tierny to develop.

So i would go for Lote Tuqiri and Matty Bowen both of them have played at the highest level and are still relevantly good players and they wont stifle the development of the youngsters as they would only be here for a year or two.

Shouldn't think so Sherlock. Tickle has signed for Widnes.

At no point does he ask are we in for them, merely suggesting that maybe Wigan, or Lenagan at his previous club had held talks with the players.

Or maybe (in Tickle's case) it was just the fact that as a former Wigan player and local lad that IL was just offering him some sympathy?

Lote Tuqiri has barely played since coming back into League because of injuries. Moreover, he has looked less than impressive since his return.

he looked good enough against St George he actually looked strong and powerful exactly what we need to replace pat, I'm not bothered about previous injuries he believes he's up for another season or two and we have youngster who would relish the chance if he had to miss a few weeks.

Good, I'm not sure he would even get a bench spot ahead of Hansen, Farrell, O'Loughlin and Pettybourne, however, I never even hinted that we're signing him, merely that we may have been in talks with him at some point.
