I'm pretty sure there was once a Welsh scrum half whose surname was Bishop who picked up a very lengthy ban in RU for violence, and immediately switched to League ... though his ban was respected in our game as well. Or something like that.

David Bishop actually completed his 11 month ban in rugby union and returned to playing (brilliantly) for Pontypool after it. He eventually left for Hull KR because he was told the Wales selectors would never pick him and Robert Jones had emerged as a test class 9. He was a wronged man, probably the best Welsh scrum half since Gareth Edwards, hard as nails and superbly skilled

All I really remember is that he was a very effective League player.

A guy on the alternative forum is suggesting Wigan had Mulhern signed up in a swop deal for two of our players. I am not sure that I believe that, why would HKR take Johnson rather than two Wigan players?
