The Communist Cap - dragging down success and aspiration to the levels of those who cba.

As i said on current form no.

At the end of the year we may scrape in, and put a run together which in the grand scheme of thing will mean nothing and paper over the cracks of another gash season as we will still be lightyears behind the front runners, still if that pleases you fair enough.

It's not a trick question.

Do you think we will finish in the top 8.

Nevermind "on current form", future form, finger in the air form.

Do you think we will finish in the top 8. Very simple question. YES or NO?

But it is not that simple, if we continue to play like we are no.

If we adapt and improve we stand a chance.

The question i pose to you is, is making the 8 acceptable in your eyes, for me it is not, we should be aiming for top 4 and i will say now i do not think we will end up top 4. I will also say that we need to be at least challenging the top teams for honours we again are in no danger of doing this.

Basically it is not acceptable. You slate Lenagan, but to improve the situation what should he do short term in your opinion to improve the situation?

Ainscough. Has had instances before where he was exposed. Should learn from it.

Most worrying thing is that despite possession, Wigan failed to capitalise.

Still. The cup games don't start until September. Who cares about this result?

BK,
We don't always agree, but you're spot on this time.

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions

I think a lot of people walked out with disgust at the abysmal refereeing, rather than the Wigan performance.

Personally, I don't like it, but hey, you would be a fool not to play to the rules.

Better to finish 8th on the back of some form, than finish 3rd and be on a downward spiral.

You are not suggesting this is all some sort of master plan are you?

Mess about for half a season, finish 7th or 8th and them mount a challenge for the play-offs?

Given the new play off structure who do you think has best chance of winning the thing, a side who finishes 8th or a side who finished 4th?

The whole point of the league is make your play off fixtures as easy as possible.

There are plenty of reasons to play well and seek good form now. Finishing in the top 4 is one. Pleasing the crowd is another. IL himself acknowledged a big complaint form the fans was boring RL when he was on the Radio Manchester RL hour recently so despite the fact you play naff RL and still get into the play offs, finishing eighth this is not what the majority of fans want. It doesn't matter if technically you can win it from there, people are fed up of the team having poor league seasons and so far this season we are having another poor league season.

What means zip to most fans IMO is you can play poorly and still get into the playoffs. They do not go to games to be bored.

I'd rather finish bottom knowing we've turned up and put the effort in.

Wigan 'played to the rules' last year and once again fell at the final hurdle, your theory only works if the team are actually good enough to win something at the end of it... We've shown we can play on a couple of occasions but we have a badly coached badly motivated side and we won't win a thing unless we can put a run of good performances together to build some confidence and pride in the squad, Wigan have gone backwards yet again.

You mean 1 place away from a playoff spot?

Would YOU choose Wigan as your opponents come September? Now truthfully?

Honestly yes, I would because you're a poor team. Let's face with the players Wigan have, they should be a lot higher then one place off a play-off spot. They should be in the top 4 at least.
