Re: leeds match : Tue May 28, 2013 5:37 pm
Micky Mac having a 4 match ban is nonsense and a wind up.
Leeds use a rushed defence out wide against us to cut off the pass to Faz, Green would have found overcoming that difficult and Sam P even more so.
Great game, the best of the weekend for quality although the game of the Hulls had the drama and controversy.
What does bother me is the difference between the refereeing of the TV games and non TV games.
All this fuss about McGuire's no try is down to refs using different procedures.
In a non TV game Silverwood would have blown up the moment McGuire went behind his team mate. They do it all the time. Yet a TV game and he lets play run on. If Sam had tackled McGuire then Leeds score on the next play Silverwood could not have used to VR for obstruction. So Leeds would have had a try awarded just because it's a TV game.
This does need clarifying.

We may not meet Leeds in the play offs.
Should they draw Hudds then I feel it will be over for them as Hudds really do seem to know how to beat them.
Leeds do use the rushed defence out wide to force us up the middle. Thing is though when Ablett and Watkins are the centres they don't retreat the full 10 mtrs each ptb. Also with Watkins when he has the ball is hand he is very dangerous. When he's defending he aint the quickest thinker out there. He can be caught out and often is. I did think our coaching staff may have found a way around the Leeds defence but they didn't.
It will be difficult beating Leeds but they do make some unforced errors. Especially in their own half in front of the sticks. Those two pens were the difference.
Also did anyone else think Sam's pen kick went through the sticks and was a goal?

SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.

For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.

Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row

That whole post was supposed to be on the other "Plan B" thread.
Don't know if it can be transferred.

The game is going down the pan.

That is probably the fault of our beloved Stevo getting his knickers in a twist in the commentary. Like it or not tweed le dumb and tweedle dee are in a position of influence.

Don't you think it's about time you ,Rougues and a few other Cycloptic posters on here took a trip to Specsavers. It never went between the sticks in a million years, but there again its all academic.
