Just posted on another forum that the decline in Cas is sad to see. They live for Rugby league in that town and deserve better. It was scary going to Cas in 2017 and while that couldn’t last, they shouldn’t be in as bad a shape as they currently are. It does sound like the plan is to get the IMG points needed to secure their Superleague place and to then invest more heavily in the squad.
It is sad to see, but let's be honest, they've had 25 years to get the ground up to standard. They are not alone in this , every ground in Yorkshire have been dragged kicking and screaming to upgrade their grounds. Compare Salford, Widnes, Warrington, Leigh, St Helens have all upgraded. Me personally its a dump and I hope they get relegated.

whilst i've been quite vocal in the past about Cas and Wakey re lack of investment the one thing you cant knock at Cas is the off pitch (bars, burgers, pizza, toffee etc) they've always had that bit right and i'd forgotten how good that part is, as i've not been there for a couple of seasons.
onto the game, and Cas just never got a foothold in the game. We started well, and then i think we backed off for the last 15 in the 1st half. i know there has been a point made about missing Cas player, but they started with 3,4,5,6,7,11,12,13,14 & 17, so still quite a bit of their starting team was out there. The big difference and i've mentioned it on here and Warriors fans, is that we've had our props missing most of the season, but have still been able to start with Thompson, Mago, Hill and Chan (possibly weakest starting front row we could name based on experience) and we ran over Leigh with that front row

Personally, Cas is one of my favourite away grounds. I'd take much of it over the newer but absolutely soulless DW.
I didn't make the game yesterday, but went to the opening fixture. The different food & drink options far surpassed anything on offer at the DW. In fact I'm a bit of a coffee snob and the one I got from the little mobile van was superb. Throw in the ability to stand and the atmosphere that creates and it's a good ground to visit.

Oh I agree that they've had decades to get things in gear. It seems a Yorkshire issue in general or maybe to pinpoint it more accurately, an issue with that particular area around Cas/Wakey/Fev. It's why I feel sorry for the fans because it's not their fault. The ground is a mess but I hope they can retain a superleague place because It'll mean they're getting it sorted. It's been false dawn after another but fingers crossed the plans in place to renovate the ground come off this time (the proper plans, not the make do and mend fixes we're seeing currently like bolting seats to the existing terracing).

Noticed yesterday that the stand opposite the main stand is being revamped to make it all seater.

After watching the game on Wigan TV I have to mention the build up to the try scored on 50 minutes - four immense hit ups from Mago, Hill, Dupree and Nsemba racking up 80m and then great hands to get the ball out to Marshall to finish. The power and potential in the forward pack is awesome.
A reminder we went into the 2019 playoffs with a starting front row of Tony Clubb and Oliver Partington. I'm glad we've fixed the issue but why on earth did we have such a weak front row for so many years?

That passage of play was so pleasing. Just one out massive carries.
You have to take into account the opposition but still very impressive.
Junior was steaming onto the ball every carry and make about 3 clean breaks. He’ll need to play full 80 mins at least until walters is back. Hopefully with the same intensity.

Junior is not just a big body he has great balance as well. When he made one of his breaks I was hoping he would go round the full back and bring the house down. Well the part of the house that Wigan fans occupied.
