You know I may be wrong but I don’t think Hardakers conversion rate was outstanding at the time and I’m sure a lot of supporters thought at the time that taking the two was the wrong decision.

Kicking has been an issue at the club for a while now and that’s another issue that needs to be addressed.

I do have to say that I don’t think Lam was helped by our recruitment, the signing of George Burgess was an absolute killer and he also had to contend with injuries too but his record at Wigan is littered with too many ifs/buts/maybes.

Sporting success is often decided on fine margins but even after reaching a GF and winning coach of the year I recall plenty of fans wanting a change.

Anyone else feel like we are still weak in the prop position?

Mago, Singleton, Partington, Havard, Byrne?

I have seen a lot of people saying Ellis is more of a loose? (Although we tend to now use that as an extra prop, we still look a little light IMO?)

Second rowers we have in abundance. Bateman, Farrell, Isa, Smithies, Shorrocks, KPP

It is true lam got dealt a bad hand with Burgess, injuries etc. But there is absolutely no excuse for the rugby that was put on last year. Absolutely 0.

The team had enough experience and potential to play a lot better than we did.

I've said it for a few years now, he's the worst coach we've had in 30 years.

And according to many supporters, the worse squad the club has had during the same period!


The sad thing is that Peet will more or less have the same squad to coach as Lam!

My concern with the Props is we have failed to bring in an experienced leader.

Mago and Ellis both still relative youngsters.

I just think we could have done with an older head to add a bit more leadership. Singleton going to be under a lot of pressure in that role now.

No doubt I’d love one more experienced prop. There’s a lot of unknowns about the two new guys and for all we know they may rip it up and we’ll be raving about them and the rotation we pick. I’d have just liked a safety net of one big experienced body. I was impressed with Sidlow last season and as a squad player I felt he could’ve been a decent and cheap option just to add a bit of depth.
