I badgered on about Hill but it never felt like we were in for him. I’d have liked Westerman for sure and was surprised plenty felt it would be a joke signing (on the other board).

It certainly feels like we’re short of that type of experienced middle forward but the halfback issue is the most pressing concern for now.

didnt we have an 'up and coming prop', who just went to Warrington.

Bradford want compo if he moves, so cant see it happening

Sneyd has signed for Salford and it looks like Gale is going to replace him at Hull. 2 goal kicking halfbacks, not world beaters but would no doubt improvement on what we have. What on earth are we doing?

Not buying players we don't need.

Rightly, or wrongly, Smith is seen as the same type of player as what Gale and Sneyd are. We need someone to complement that style, not match it. Add in the uncertainty around French and Zak and it's pivotal that any HB we bring has a solid running game. Those two don't.

Long term, I've been quietly impressed with Leon Pryce's lad. He seems to have his old man's instincts for taking the line on.

We have to start planning for the longer term and not looking at quick fixes or short term signings. Long term they want a partner for Smith and no way is Sneyd that man. We could’ve got Gale but he looks pretty knackered and would be a short term signing.

Signing for signings sake won’t help us.

I’ve seen very little of young Pryce but my eldest lad is always raving about him and what great potential he has.
Although highly unlikely we would or could sign him up do you think he ready for 1st team football on a regular basis?

I know that your knowledge of the NRL is far superior to mine so are you aware of any available young HB out there who you think and hope we are looking at?

There's a real shortage of quality half backs in the NRL - Tyrone Roberts is having trials at Brisbane ffs.
