He does have real promise and was towards the end of the season a regular in Huddersfield’s side. That being said I’m not sure he is ready or developed enough for the pressure of being a starting half at Wigan, something which is vastly underestimated IMO. Having 2 young inexperienced halves is a huge gamble and one too far for me.

For me I’d be targeting Jordan Abdul. He’s a big unit, good hands and would do very well at Wigan. He might now cost a little more than he would have done given his England call up but it would be a fine investment IMO.

I've said that a few times, especially when he was at London.

Sneyd has signed for Salford and it looks like Gale is going to replace him at Hull. 2 goal kicking halfbacks, not world beaters but would no doubt improvement on what we have. What on earth are we doing?

I don't think so. Gale is shot and Sneyd couldn't fall over the try line.

Not buying players we don't need.

Rightly, or wrongly, Smith is seen as the same type of player as what Gale and Sneyd are. We need someone to complement that style, not match it. Add in the uncertainty around French and Zak and it's pivotal that any HB we bring has a solid running game. Those two don't.

Long term, I've been quietly impressed with Leon Pryce's lad. He seems to have his old man's instincts for taking the line on.

You are using Wayne Bennet's mantra which I fully agree with.

[quote="Rogues Gallery"]Who are those many, do they sit by you?

How will that be when he will have at least four new players with maybe another two coming in?

'

It was a just glib comment like that of Sargeant Pepper!.

And where have you got the idea that there will be two new signings when IL has stated that there would be only one and that seems to have died a death since Leulaui suddenly announced within days of IL's comment that he would play play again.

Unless, of course you have got inside information that they are only to replace French and Hardacre.

The silence by the club on what is happening with the squad and next years shirt can hardly be hardly be helping the sale of season tickets.!

Do you not think the club knew Tommy was going round again well before it was announced or do you think Tommy woke up that morning and decided he was going to carry on. Because in all fairness it wasn’t Tommys choice if he went round again. That decision ultimately is down to the club to offer him the opportunity to.

The 73k plus £xxx for a half back to be announced soon would already include Tommys salary for 2022.

Have you bought your season ticket yet?

And Peet will be more successful with the same players. I am confident that he knows what position each player plays in unlike Lam who kept picking players in the wrong positions?

Some were playing in the wrong postions as you put it as result of injuries (some long term) and the more than normal suspensions rate. Like for example, second row forwards Farrell and Isa as a centre pairing, Bibby and Halsall who are centres and Field who is a half back having to play on the wing because of Manfredi and Marshall being injured.'

The only one that could be said as being wrong was Lam not having the confidence to play Hanley at fullback, but was that decision made in consultation with assistant coaches, O'Loughlin, Peet and Winder.

We can only hope that Peet does not have to same level of problems!

At Wakefield Marshall was chosen at full back whilst Hanley played on the wing. That was a particularly strange one. But there were many many more.

Wether it was a decision made in consultation with his assistant coaches as you say then its still Lam who was to blame as he was in charge.

We’ll see. I’m sure he’ll hit rough patches but I’ve not been as excited about a young, British back coming through since Sam Tomkins. That doesn’t mean he’ll reach that level but ability wise he looks special to me.
