Looking at his highlights reel, the majority seem to be showing him playing at six and I’d imagine that’s where we’ll see him to start with. That would probably make Field a strong favourite to make way but like many, I think I’d be looking to move Tommy in to that coaching role. It would seem strange for Field to go now after he and the club have spoken so openly about him wanting to hit the ground running.

Agreed.

It really doesn’t seem to stack up with all the attention the club are focussing on Field in relation to his fitness and motivation for next year.

My guess is sadly French won’t be returning, hence the push on Field from the media department who will be his natural replacement.

Just a total guess though.

Or maybe (and hopefully) we can fit them all in. I’m not sure it’s been confirmed that we can’t. We haven’t even officially announced the signing of a player in Thornley, so I’ve never expected clarity on our position regards quota spots.

When?

His post last night just mentioned a situation cropping up with Field but he couldn’t say anything (again) as it was behind a paywall wall. No mention of a halfback incoming in that thread. Why couldn’t he mention it if he knew? He said he’d wait until it was in the free press, I wonder why?

A signing gets announced with no mention of Field and now he’s saying Field may stay or go. That isn’t anything we need inside info on and until he can come out and start putting names on players, he’ll always seem like a guy just having a laugh with people. We’ve got five lads coming in for 2022 and he hasn’t named one of them prior to it being announced.

You always seem really forthright with your opinions and can be pretty abrupt with posters if you don’t agree with them (which is fair enough), so it surprises me you take his drivel on board.

Don't be surprised if Field stays, but don't be surprised if he leaves either.

I’ve heard the same with French, he could come back but then again he might not.

Heard we might sign another player before the start of next season as well but if we don’t, it’s because they pulled out of the deal.

I saw a Twitter post early on this morning well before his.

I’m glad he’s confirmed Field is leaving but isn’t. Perhaps he can confirm if Tommy will eventually retire or not?
