What I would say is they really need to establish themselves first in a SL team prior to taking a punt at the NRL.

I think he would be ill advised to go for another 2 years but if he backs himself to have a go now, fair play.

He posted the news first but it had 100% been announced by the club at that point.

Not bagging him (this time) as he hasn’t claimed anything about inside knowledge on that one.

That seemed to be what was indicated at the forum and it sounded very much like they know it’s going to be difficult to keep him beyond that point.

How creditable any rumour about a potential swap for Dom Young is I do not know but if there was any truth to it, I could live with it. I rate both extremely highly but we’re short of star quality in the three quarters but have plenty of options in the forwards and more coming through.

I’d love two big athletes like those in the same team but replacing with with the other would soften the blow.

He posted at 6.02pm - I'd posted in our WhatsApp group at 6.05pm and my son told me 5mins earlier
Then tries to give it that he had the Scoop by saying :-
"just knew the Field announcement was going to be made tonight so there would be no repercussions of it coming out, turns out Wigan announced it a couple of minutes after I posted anyway so there was no time for the rumour to kick off"

As if he knew BEFORE Wigan announced it

I think the problem with Mago is everyone expects too much from him, myself included. I personally thought from the eye that he was poor against Hull but he put up pretty good numbers really and has all season. He’s tough to bring down and has a good offloading game, we just need 40/50 minutes from him not 30/40.

He posted after it had been announced all his scoops are so lacking in any basis at all. It’s actually quite sad that he feels the need to do it to be honest.

He’s like one of those fortune tellers who chucks out random statements and then when something remotely resembling it happens comes on and says “I told you so”.

I think the decision to go to the NRL will always depend on the players personal circumstances at the time.

For every reason to stay, there are equal reasons to go now.

One thing I would say is that things can change quickly in sport so that NRL offer might not always be on the table but a contract in SL probably always will.

One thing for sure is that NRL clubs are monitoring our young players much earlier in their careers than some might think.

A couple of high profile young players in the Wigan team have already rejected approaches from two NRL clubs before signing their last contract.

It would be a huge achievement to keep KPP but he’s not the only Wigan player who is a wanted man down under.

Harry got Player of the match on the weekend. Played really well and scored a a great try from his own grubber kick. He kicked through the line and then kicked it passed the fullback to score. Overall game was very good, he made good metered and distributed the ball as well.

The NRL has rhe upper hand massivy nowadays with salary caps and exchange rates etc etc.

It hurts to lose players, but the fact they are scrutinising our academies is a great compliment. They can't/won't sign them all
