One thing stood out for me tonight after the absolutely outstanding Aus vs NZ women's game tonight - Amber Hall the biggest player in the NZ team playing 80 minutes of quality RL when the biggest player at Wigan plays 5-10 minutes before looking like he's on the verge of collapsing through exhaustion?

posted overnight on the rumour mill on warriors fans that we have signed Jared Waerea-Hargreaves

note it wasnt dan the man either, so unlikely to be true as he hasnt edged his bets either way on him yet , so just waiting for the arguements about who posted first again

If this turns out to be true I’d have mixed feelings.

He is clearly one of the top props in the World still and it would be great to see him in the Cherry and White. He would provide quality and also a bit of wow/entertainment factor for the club.

The issue of course would be the number of games he would miss due to his uncompromising style of play. No point in having your marquee player missing for 1/4 of the season. He also has a nasty habit of giving away penalties late in the tackle count, something that infuriates me and something Peet seems to have cleaned up massively in his time as coach.

No doubt Dan will be along to clarify everything shortly to say he is or isn’t close to signing but he may or may not do just to clarify the situation for everyone.

very true. when i read it earlier i was like WOW thats some bit of business if it happens.I suppose Saints found out with Sironen this year as he was banned quite a bit early on. If we can get him at 90% of the player we know, but drop the penalty machine, then i'd be all for it

As much as I'd love it to happen, I can't see this being anything other than a rumour sadly.

That being said...

It's been a long, long time since we've had a forward like JWH and I'd love to see him in Cheery and White. Don't get me wrong, I like watching guys like French and Field, but not as much as a bit of biff and old school sh!th0using.

The potential matchups are mouth watering imo and make my season ticket even more worthwhile. JWH vs Walmsley or Bentley. Watching him Vs Wire and the atmosphere it will generate etc.

Can't help but think the JWH rumour stems from an article on loverugbyleague where the clickbait headline says "Catalans interested in Jared Waerea-Hargreaves & Wigan respond to rumours" and they've not actually bothered to read the article in which the rumours Wigan respond to are the ones involving Bateman. Classic case of 2+2=5.
