I suppose it depends on the term 'massive', big news regarding Wigan would be Bateman going back to the NRL, but not necessarily big in terms of Rugby League.

The only thing I would consider 'massive' for Wigan as well as the sport would be the signing of an big name outsider. Putting two and two together with last week's rumour - Owen Farrell.

Would be a great headline capture for us.... but seems unlikely?

Not sure how to post a link but it was Craig Harrison on the show me the money podcasts latest episode. On YouTube it was 43 mins and a few seconds in.

It was a very quick line of ‘massive news to come out of Wigan, really good for them and it could be great news for the game’.

Considering who said it, I wouldn’t get too excited but we’ll see.

**edit** they seem to have posted a more up to date episode this evening, so it is the one from 4 days ago-episode 139.

It was said in the subtext of a conversation about salary caps and recruitment so it sounds like a new player. It really is the bottom of the barrell as far as RL podcasts go though - not exactly the sharpest knives in the drawer although in fairness I don't doubt their passion.

If its JWH I think that would be a mistake.

Is Harrison still Smithies agent? He was a guest at Wigan other night. I know we have several interested parties investment wise. But that sounded more like a big signing and seemed to circle around removing the cap going forwards.

Mago is back in training at Wigan pics of him and Cust on media channels.
I imagine him moving won't be happening so if we are to gain a player he must be either to replace Batty and he's non quota or non quota and as well as Batty. If it's a big name and Batty is staying then cap would cause an issue unless exempt? Or it's all rubbish.

How reliable is this podcast? Could it not just be the rumour of Owen Farrell coming? Which I’d say is a total non starter.
