Possibly, but all that does is dislodge players who've either earned their spot, or are talented youngsters.

Example one, Smithies is our 13 imo. He really came of age last year and was arguably better than Knowles. Give him a bumper, multi year deal and the famous 13 shirt. He'd even be my skipper in a few years too.

Example 2, i'd rather O'Neill played at 9 & Cust at 6 than Pryce at 6 and Cust at 9. Pryce will be gone in a few years, as will Cust too (probably). O'Neill is our long term 9. He's a serious talent, as seen in our last game Vs Saints.

Although this may be fine from a defensive perspective, it would remove any attacking threat we have at 13. I am dead against Powell getting any spells at 13.

I’m loving this to be fair and even if it turns out to be nothing you can’t beat a good ole rumour mill churning.
Would Pryce coming be good for rugby league/Super League? I think it’s a stretch saying keeping him in SL is good for Super League, as good as a prospect he looks, or is this unrelated to this mysterious big announcement?
Also as has been pointed out Hwigan has joined the forum today and this is his first post, so likely just pulling our legs.

Pryce would be an outstanding player if you were not happy with securing him I don’t know who you would realistically want to target, the caveat though as you mention is length of deal.

If it was for 2 years…no thanks. 3-5 absolutely.

No point in signing someone if they are going to move to the NRL in the short term.

If we could get him and Smith on long term deals you have 2 of the most important positions potentially covered for years.

All speculation though, guess we will have to wait and see.

It's nothing against Pryce as a player. He's a top talent for sure. It's about overall needs and weaknesses in the squad imo. 6 isn't a position we're struggling with. 2nd row, looks more of an issue imo.
