I don’t rant Jukes unlike you. You rant with regularity. You post in capitals to state you certainty with monotonous regularity.
What’s your stance?. What’s your solution?.. you never give it. Spit it out.
Point me to a balanced review in MSM on COVID over the last 24 months. They can’t because of ofcom regulations. Am I wrong? Am I lying?
I’m vaccinated and advise vaccination.
Omicron gives protection against delta. Have MSM issued that statement yet?

Wow

Rant with regularity ? I suppose that will be someone's opinion, but IMO you need to learn the difference between rant and someone with a different opinion.

I posted my opinion, seems like you chose to ignore it

What do you suggest then?

The only credible answer is vaccination and infection. Actually vaccination and re-infection. That is the only answer full stop.
The latest news is that omicron gives protection against delta which is brilliant news.
MSM won’t advise this in the near future if ever.

All ask is a balanced view.
MSM want bad news and is manned by careerist rather journalists
Sorry I think journalists is a defunct word so we should describe them as commentators.

I think you'll find for many many pages a few of us have been saying that everyone needs to ge vaccinated wherever possible (I.e. no health issues with being vaccinated) and wear masks (again when medically ok to do so) when appropriate as per guidelines (irrespective ofnwhat you may personally think of those guidelines)
.

There you go again
Vaccinations where medically possible
Masks when advised etc

And in the main I agree with that - I’d like to see the proof that mask wearing is effective (that’s a sincere request BTW) and as I was asked earlier by someone else the proof lockdowns don’t work is that COVID is still here.

But what next? When the vaccination uptake levels out, no more people want it, what do we do then? Carry on banging on about infections/hospitalisations? Have a certain section of society call for lockdowns and restrictions continuously? No.

We simply must live with COVID, there’s literally no other option. Wear a mask if you want, it makes no odds to my life. But eventually it should be treated as per flu would be and is. Life moves on and it’s time we started catching up with it.

FWIW I’m not into this ‘MSM media’ agenda nonsense, nor am I an avid watcher of YouTube videos, Twitter posts, Facebook nonsense. They’re all dangerous rabbit holes to fall into. I’m coming at this from the realistic angle of COVID is here to stay and life must continue. Are some people going to die? Yes. But equally, as raised by you, are people going to die in car accidents? Yes. Do we ban all cars?

I can’t see there being anymore lockdowns but if there are I won’t be abiding by it. Police can quite gladly knock at my door, I simply won’t be answering or allowing entry to my home. I’m getting on with enjoying my life and I suggest everyone else does the same too.

Lots of questions there so will give as quick an answer as I can

Face masks, I think most people acknowledge that they don't 100% stop the spread
however, 1 quick search at " are masks effective and I can find links to the Governement, WHO, BMJ etc who all say they help in reducing and should be used in certain situations along with other measures such as ventilation, distancing, regular hand wash, sanitisers etc.

Lockdowns don't work?
Well, I kind of half agree with that, other than with the 1st/2nd wave when we had no vaccinations there was simply very little alternative other than to social distance etc.
I've said it before, if we didn't social distance/lockdown and wear masks etc how do we know that deaths etc wouldn't have been 10 or 100 times more ???
Ill say it again and try not to use capital to upset certain people, at no point have I said we should have another lockdown??? Myself and others have pointed out when people have come on imo spreading lies as fact that they aren't facts I.e. Omicron is just a cold and/or vaccines don't work etc (IMO some.people are so worked up for their own various reasons they're focused on the argument rather than common sense).

Flu comparison, Your right, eventually it will, but IMO not just yet.
At some point there will be a shot just like the flu jab yearly etx. And we will all move on etc. But just like the flu jab some people will have to be pushed, reminded, etc to get one as they will either let it slide or they know best (a bit like this argument).
If people don't take it up again In future that will create problems

With regard ro vaccine uptake then I suppose there will always be some who won't take it, and I don't believe it should be mandatory.
However, I also don't believe that people should be spreading mis information to put everyone else off taking it because they've been down the conspiracy theory rabbit holes etc.
I am 100% certain that there will and has been a lot of preventable serious illness and death occurring due to people believing a lot of the rubbish and mis information from non MSM outlets. But somehow they don't get the same abuse from those people as the MSM (I can't believe I keep typing those 3 letters out if I'm honest, I may not agree with everything they do, but I'd rather listen to the BBC for example than 99% of the b00ll0x on twitter/fb/etc)

Living with covid
I don't disagree, but like the car analogy there may need to be certain safety precautions
We have traffic lights
We have seat belts
We have speed limits
We have drink and drug driving laws
We have age limits
We have tests/lessons etc.

End of the day people talking about freedoms have other certain freedoms dictated to them in the form of the law/rules etc. Yes, people break/bend them occasionally but common sense says that if we all abide with them when we can then things will be safer.

Would you say to anyone go and break the speed limit? Drink drive? Not wear a seatbelt? Etc
Yes they don't work 100% of the time but they make things far safer for EVERYONE (Oops, there I go again).

I was happy to debate with 6oz globes but you wanted to argue bare knuckles. Fair do’s I know the rules so no problem. I rant but you have a different opinion.

It’s FACT you use FACT in many of your responses to this thread. You conveniently ask for using one word in capitals to be excluded. Why do you use FACT? Is it because other posters don’t know the facts?
You must think it’s important to highlight in capitals.

I actually think we agree on lots of areas on this topic but I or anyone else questions what the tories/sage do is almost sacrilegious. Most of my points on this topic have been that there are other potential alternatives but non conformist voices are rarely if ever heard on MSM outlets. Sshaggerr Hancock described Sunetra Gupta as a “crackpot”. She is probably the most eminent epidemiologist in the uk if not the world and Hancock described her as a crackpot.

This morning the education secretary stated that masks for high schools are based on the results of 123 visual reviews of schools wearing masks. Unless they reviewed 123 schools in the same areas without masks this visual review is pointless. Whoever signed off this review without the alternative should she summarily dismissed for incompetence.

So vaccination and masks is it? That’s the sum of your opinion?
You will never get 100% vaccination take up unless perhaps it’s under the boot of the CCP
No airborne virus has ever seen immunity without infection and re-infection. That’s how nature works.

No changes needed in the nhs?
There is little flexibility in manning and to my knowledge there are no plans to address in the future.
The next season will be the 3rd year of COVID when infections will increase in the winter and nobody talks about changes required to address this.
Madness absolute madness

Not a rant just a few opinions backed up with I think a little bit of common sense.

Whilst I admit I'm not a BBC or SKY news lover myself (I scour various international news outlets for a more balanced view) I'd love to know what you would consider the best source of information.

I used and highlighted the word FACT when others used opinions as facts ehe they are not I.e. Omicron is just a cold (weird that there's thousands in hospital with "Just a cold").
Don't make out that I've used the word FACT to support my own opinions on this subject, I've used it to point out were people have expressed opinions as.though they are facts when they aren't and they are wrong.

As for 6oz gloves or bare knuckles, not 100% sure what toy mean but I guess it's something to do with maybe me using the word rant when you went in about MSM?
If that's the case then I apologise, if I'm honest I attribute people who use the term MSM to the crackpot going down rabbit hole's, trumpism, qanon, anti vaxxers (the ones going round screaming about micro chips etc, not the ones who have a medical condition etc) crew.

In the bottom half of your post (and in other posts) tou have extended the conversation to what do you think about x, or what do I think about y, and other subjects and then say vaccines and masks, is that all I've got.
No it's not all I've got, but thats what I had responded to, people talking rubbish about not wearing masks and not having the vaccine.

Of course I have opinions on lots of other subjects, and as soon as anyone responds to that there'll be others saying "ah but what about this".

I'm trying to keep it simple in the terms of the original statements I responded to

Wear a mask of and where you can of requested
Have the vaccine if you are.medically able to, if not then fair enough but don't preach to others who do with mis information (not accusing you of that, it was others).

Come on then, point me in the right direction.

And as for yesterday, I accept when I asked you to point me in the right direction about where I should get my info from and you responded I rate etc I thought you were talking about some news outlet/source and that was the name of it.

But I did ask for where i should.get my Info from I.e news outlet, and like Mattyb is asking I'll ask again as well.
Where should I be getting it from

PS
A lot of people mistake hearing things they don't like for mis information or biase.

The Government/Tories have done a great job of discrediting the MSM (BBC in particular) and somehow making a lot of people believe it's some lefty/snowflake/socialist/marxist etc. (You get the picture), organisation.
When it's as centrist as it can be on most subjects, discredited as left wing by the right when it exposes/reports on anything they don't want. And In reverse the far left when it doesn't criticise the right for absolutely everything

Won’t let me use emoji so thumbs up.

As I said we agree on virtually all points I just don’t and won’t accept that there are no other alternatives than the same tired and in some cases unenforceable approaches by the government/sage.

The lack of any decent investigative journalist anywhere on any platform is shocking. I understand the ofcom restrictions to a degree ties the hands of the media but the lack of challenge back I find quite startling. Oh for a John Pilger to wipe the floor with the establishment and their lackies. Journalists are now part of the establishment. I honestly can’t think of one decent investigative journalist.

The burying of the heads about the inflexibility of the nhs makes me despair. They should be planning now for 2022/23 winter.

STOP USING CAPS!

We kind of half agree with each other, just not quite there. I think I’ve said all I’d want to say and we’d start going in circles.

I haven’t looked up mask effectiveness but I will do, I’m genuinely interested. It wasn’t a challenge to anyone or a debate point. It’s more the ‘normal’ masks you’d see rather than the FFP3 type masks you’d ordinarily see on a building site.
