| Quote NSW="NSW"Wigan Warriors can confirm that both Junior Nsemba and Jacob Douglas have joined Whitehaven on one-month loan deals.'"
Two tries for Douglas, one great finish in the corner, one an 80m break.
Nsemba scored Havens other try.

| Saw comments from some Haven fans saying the Wigan lads were about the only positive. Hopefully we’ll get to see some highlights in the week.

Two crackers, a great start for the lad. Good to see the pace on Eckersley nearly chasing him down on the long ranger as well.

Superb! He’ll probably be on the combined wage of Ellis and Mago but looks worth it!
Wires strategy of signing 4 33 year old props looks good so far!

He’s a good player mate, but let’s see what happens as the season progresses.

| Fev fan here. Not seen him before but I think Junior Nsemba played left edge back row for Whitehaven today (number 29). If so - it might sound mad in a team that lost 76-4 but I was really impressed with him, stood out amongst Whitehaven's team and looked to have a bit of quality about him. The other two Wigan players didn't get much chance to shine.

Thanks for your feedback. Junior has all the tools, the question for me is has he the desire.

I said to some Wigan colleagues at the time, if we had kept Mike Cooper and let Wigan sign Vaughan I would've been livid! Cooper has been an amazing prop(and is still pretty decent), but his best days are most definitely behind him.

In addition to the perspective that one swallow doesn't make a summer. Whilst Vaughan was mightily impressive, he was playing against a passive Leeds side. We'll see how each of the players are performing later on this year.
Short memories have come to light since last weekend. I would even go as far as saying, I wouldn't be surprised to see Leeds doing well towards the end of the year too. It's round 1!

| Watching Parcell last week and Ackers tonight being so influential to a game makes me think we need a change at 9 soon.
I love Powell and he’s been a warrior for years but being good defensively just isn’t enough in the modern game.
Personally I’ve not been that impressed with O’Neill either, Forber caught my eye in preseason.
Think Dwyer could have been a decent signing for us

I don’t like Dwyer he’s a bit of a headless chicken but I think he has a place in the 17 doing impact spells.
I agree in regards Powell.
I really rate him as a Wigan player but his lack of dynamism and natural athleticism is letting us down compared to other top sides 9s.
Ackers would have been an ideal signing for us.

I was impressed with O’Neill when he first came on the scene but he looks like he’s coasting at present. Powell has never been anything more than a tackling machine with a good attitude. If all 3 were 20yrs of age I’d be picking Tom Forber easily and I wouldn’t want to sign anyone to hamper his progress in Dwyer.
Personally, I’d like to see Powell leave at seasons end, O’Neill with him unless he shapes up and sign an experienced Aussie on a 2yr deal to bring on Forber.

| Daryl Clarke is an interesting one off that list in my opinion.
Been off the boil a couple of years but there is a very good player in there still.
I think he will go very well in 23 and probably earn a new deal at Wire.

| So of our off contracts, i would be letting go of Isa, Mago, Miski, Silva, Singleton & Thornley. Take the options on Ellis, Cooper and Cust (offer cust a 2 year contract maybe if he wants it, i like him) and offer Smithies a decent but not crazy contract (i don't think we will need to offer him silly money, i can't see there being any NRL interest at present.
If all this came to be, along with the Bateman cap space, i reckon that would give us plenty of leeway to make a few solid signings, Second Row and Prop being the main target area's. I would love a new experienced hooker but how realistic that is i don't know. We would only get one if Powell was to leave and if he is not out of contract, that would be a shock. Plus all the stuff that has been mentioned in the past with his coaching training, i think Powell is here to stay, for better or worse and we will see how O'Neill and Forber turn out in time. I have hopes for both though, especially Forber.
