Hasn’t reached his peak yet the lad. Needs to slow down a bit and learn his craft with Saints. Rushton went over two soon played 1-2 games for Canberra rest spent in the reserves and came back. The amount they are offered I can see why they can’t turn it down but they are young and rather than spending a year over there and then being dropped they best holding out and hopefully getting a longer stint in the NRL

Yep, rumblings George Williams might be wanted by Wests have been reported again.



Saints have lost a couple over the years to the NRL but nothing in comparison to us. Wire haven’t lost anyone of real note to there either.



Part of the reason we’ve fallen behind saints is being unable to retain players from the NRL.

Getting an agent doesn't mean he's had an offer. It.would surprise me if there was a big queue for his services at the moment particularly as he missed so much of last year.

The report says he’s off contract at the end of 2024, so I’d imagine the agency will now be working towards a move for 2025. Maybe Saints would accept a fee for 2024 but I’d say that’s unlikely (both in terms of somebody offering one or Saints accepting the money).

Half backs are the marquee players, and in the NRL even the poor/average ones like Luke Brooks are on over $AS1m a year. Dodd would be daft not to at least test the market.

not really, the highest paid is Ponga who is a FB, Brooks is the 4th highest player in the NRL, at to that Tedesco, Fafita and Turbo Tom are also in the top 10, it doesnt mean the HB's are the marquees, only 8 players in the NRL are on $1million or above or £540k

FB is now seen as the premier position in the NRL. You hear players talking about "full back money", or looking to swap teams just to play #1.

Don’t forget that NRL players get a motor vehicle allowance which is outside the salary cap and they can earn an unlimited amount of money from sponsorship.
