It’s very handy if he can move between second row and prop/loose forward comfortably. They’re trying to do it a bit with KPP at the minute but as shown with his contact on Satae last week and Holroyd this, you can’t trust him in there IMO. If Walters can do that, you then get two players in one in a way and can concentrate now on getting a couple of experienced specialists in at prop and second row.

It’s even more handy if he is only taking up KPP’s salary

What do people think of the likelihood of bringing in a forward this season?

Even before the injuries I had hoped we could bring someone of quality in but now I’m thinking it’s more of a necessity if we want to win something.

Is it Matty’s Dad that’s quite active on twitter. He mentioned Leeds possibly doing us a favour in regards to this this season. Must be Walters.

The quota being full has to be hurting us there. Even if you could shift Mago on, to bring one in, you’re still not up a forward (although granted you should be able to find a better one). There would’ve been calls to try and move Miski on until recently but he’s earned his spot big time. The only option I can see in terms of freeing up a quota spot and getting an extra forward in, would be to work out a deal with Cust that would allow him to leave early but I don’t see that happening.

That leaves the British market and outside of another Cooper/Powell type situation cropping up, where do you go? Maybe Walters early or Ian Watson seems on the edge of losing it with a few of his players but nothing obvious jumps out. Salford said they turned down a cash offer for a player recently but might not be able to next time if they don’t get enough pledges on this fan share scheme. I don’t see us paying out transfer fees either but who knows.

Fingers crossed Rohan Smith goes down the same route as with Leeming and let’s him go.

Rumours are that Saints have offered a transfer fee for Croft. That presumably means Dodd is off to the NRL next season for a fee (if true)

The way that Dodd is playing, a NRL club would be mad to sign him for a fee.

I doubt that, isn’t KPP on the contract he signed as a teenager? Walters might not be a regular at Leeds but he’s highly thought of and it seems a lot of Superleague clubs are after him so I imagine he will be paid a decent wage.
