I think that is fair. When he burst onto the scene he had the world at his feet. As soon as he became a regular and particularly when he got his move, his effort has dropped by about half. He won't last long in the NRL with no work rate. He will be back in SL before he nows it. He isn't a player i could see us going back in for regardless of potential. I don't think he will ever lose that lack of determination. He is a bit like Greenwood in that respect.

You guys are probably right on KPP. I’ve been a huge fan since he brightened an awful 2021 season.

Huge, athletic, great offload. Did a fine job at centre last year.

But as you as maybe lacks work rate and desire.

Still only 22, I’d have loved him to be at Wigan the next 4 years to hit his full potential. I liked the thought of having two 6foot 5 athletic offloading back rowers with him and Nsemba.


He’s due back next week, hopefully he comes back really motivated to win back the starting second row spot and win a trophy or two to put a cap on his Wigan career.

KPP got hyped up and hasn't kicked on imo.

Gets too many injuries, doesn't get through enough work, doesn't run it in hard enough because he is always thinking about the offload.

I still think KPP has a very high ceiling and can see why he was chose for the World Cup and signed by Newcastle as he offers a bit of x factor, he will however need to up his workrate and do it sharpish as he might end up back in the Superleague with his tail between his legs.

Not arguing but just not seeing it. He burst onto the scene, I got excited but the hype was too much and he hasn't kicked on. Of course he has potential but he really needs to start showing it.

I think so, he came on the scene was immediately one of our best players imo which was impressive, I think being put to centre has maybe stunted his progression as he has been less involved in the thick of the action which has maybe affected his workrate but even running in at what seems some way off 100% he’s quite tough to bring down and very tough to tie up and he has a great offload. I can see why people are exited by him that’s for sure but on the flip side I can see why most Wigan fans are far from devastated he’s leaving, me included.

I'd go with that. I've seen comments that he's gone backwards but I don't agree, he's just not gone forwards much (if at all). He has stood still in most aspects of his game. If your eyes are on a move that is happening 2 years down the track (which is about the amount of time this move seems to have been common knowledge), that does not say much about your competitive edge and your will to win IMO and those are things he is going to need to bucket loads down under. I do think he'll wake up a bit when he gets over there, they'll probably do the usual thing and bulk him up and he'll go ok but he needs to find more within himself to really thrive.

Walters very impressive in that opening stint. Fantastic support play for a front rower, powerful running and good skills with the ball.

He is looking like a shrewd bit of business. We owed them one for McDonnell (a lad who would’ve played on a regular basis here this season as sods law would have it).
