Really dark times for the club then...murry,koloi, lester, Lee hansen etc!! at least now we only have the odd one or two to worry about!! Mathers must be so pleased for that signing 12 years ago though....but for offering doc murray a trial mathers would have the distinction of Wigan RLFCs Worst Ever Full Back!

We had Mathers for a season as a youngster & he was excellent.

I had a LONG Chat with Monie when He came back to Wigan in 1998 and the main Crux of the conversation was that we must NEVER sign a player as bad as that again!

I think if we cou;ld get to the Bottom of the facts You will find it wasnt Hughes either, I think a certain J Robinson may be to blame for that one!

Moran played Full back against us in the 75-0 game and had an absolute nightmare. I have never seen a guy look so fed up walking back to the kick off from behind the posts after some of the stick he was getting from a group of Saints Lads.
