No i do not, i "bleat" about performance. There is a major difference, something that you clearly cannot grasp.

I actually typed performance and then changed it - my apologies :D . You're constantly critical of boring rugby so I just thought you were after exciting rugby.

I clearly do grasp the difference beacuse I acknowledge Huddersfield put in a good 'performance' tonight but it wasn't 'exciting rugby' to watch.

Trouble is I also acknowledge Wigan's good performances when they grind out wins but you don't seem to. You're more interested in concentrating on the boring tactics employed then. You appear to have a lack of consistency in your argument.

Woody, your spot on with the posts you have made. On another night we very well could have won that game with a little bit more composure and it is nowhere near as bad as the battering they gave us last year when they stuffed us. We had enough chances to win it tonight but just couldn't compose ourselves. Hock knocking on over the line, Roberts going over the dead ball line and of course the obstruction from Robinson just to name 3.

Yes Bentham let Huddersfield play their game of spoiling tactics but we definitely scored the more attractive tries. We actually had scored more tries than them even when they was winning by 2 until the last 10 minutes, then we let another 2 soft tries in from kicks at the end. I'm not saying that we deserved to win though because we obviously didn't with the scoreline but I don't think it's as bad as performance as some of you are making it out to be.

'Do you remember when we had that meeting in Orlando? We talked about how we were knocked out the previous year by Leeds. And at the end, I asked you one question. "Do you want to be a semi-final team? Or do you want to do something special?" You all said you wanted to win. But talking is easy – it needed you to believe. It needed you to work hard – harder than you had – and make sacrifices. You did all that. you worked for each other. You stuck together when it was tough. And because of your efforts, you sit here tonight as champions. I'm proud of you. Be proud of yourselves. You've done something special.'

Shaun Wane's post-Grand Final speech. 5th October 2013.

SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.

For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.

Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row

Same tactics worked for Huddersfield though.

It was hardly the weather to be chucking it about in tonight and of the two teams I would say we were the more adventurous.

Correct.
The two Wigan tries came from ball movement.

The Huddersfield tries came dummy half and two kicks.

Huddersfield defensively were very good, and played the rules to the limit. They reminded me very much of the early London Broncos.

The score did not reflect the game, and certainly it was not lack of effort that cost Wigan the game.

Huddersfield came with a very basic game plan and it worked.

I do i always credit a good performance, and am happy to do so.

What examples are there of Wigan grinding out a win with a good performance please elaborate and i am happy to repost my views on it.

I am also not looking for "exciting" rugby, i am looking for signs of a quality gameplan, improvement of our flaws and consistency, something that we do not get.

Nail - head - hit. Fielden is a shadow of his former self, poop himself when Crabtree offered him out tonight. I've always stuck up for Noble but there were less then 5000 fans at the end and even they couldn't be bothered to boo.

We are in serious trouble here. No Captain (O'loughlin please note), no go forward, and no backline flair. I have been watching this club for 35+ years but I can't for the life of me remember such an inept, can't be bothered home performance as tonight, or for that matter the games against Wakefield and Castleford.

Thank God we have 3 years without relegation to sort this out but even then, without tough decsions being made from the top it may be too late.

Spineless. Gutless. Inept.

I only have the Radio to go on, but we always need a little more composure, enthusiasm etc. We never get it. Maybe with a different set of officials we may have won, but you play the cards you are dealt. It seems to me that we try to guess the dealer and come off worse more often than not. I'm pi$$ed off we lost to Huddersfield at home. Call me arrogant, old skool, whatever I'm pi$$ed off, I have now spat out the dummy and am off up the wooden stairs.
