Quote from Graham Lowe - "I'm 49, I've had a brain haemorrhage and a tripple bypass and I could still go out and play a reasonable game of rugby union ......... but I wouldn't last 30 seconds in rugby league!"
My God you think Nobby's teams play boring rugby you should have seen Hudds tonight
Fair enough they won but with the best slowing down tactics I have seen for a long time. Fair play to them though, if you can get away with it and the ref isn't punishing you then continue to do it. It's boring but effective and won them the game tonight.
Exactly right. They reminded me of the old London Broncos teams of the past who used the same tactics.
Having said that we just did'nt take our chances and once again ended up chasing the game.

But Hudds chose a gameplan to play and win against Wigan and the conditions, sounds like the same tactics from Wigan that we use every week. Hudds do not use those tactics every week.
Were in danger of becoming a second tier club with a coach and fans who belive that it is acceptable to lose at home to Cas, Wakey and Hudds because if we finish in the top 8 we get a chance to be champions.
Isn't it great - we might finish 8th - win a couple of games and come 3rd in the play offs - and then we can accept another season of mediocrity safe in the knowledge that we are "improving".

This stuns me!
People are happy to accept mediocrity and worse!
On paper we are a far better team than we perform, on paper like Wire and the Bulls we are a better team than we perfrom. Wire have done something about it, just wonder when us and the Bulls will, the longer we hold for action the lower our expactations can be for 09 and beyond.
I will eat my own dung if Noble is given a contract extension at the end of the year. In fact, and I keep saying it.....I think he will walk and within the next 6 league games should we not win the majority.

But we had enough chances to win this game comfortably and did'nt take them. Poor last tackle options and the usual mistakes....dropped ball, Knock on.
If we had, it would not have mattered what tactics hudds used.

If my Auntie had a cock and balls she would be my unkle. Hudds adapted a game plan to get the win by the sounds of it. We adopted the same game plan and made the same errors we have made for the last 2 years. That is the issue.
Same story different week, no signs of these issues being cured.

'Do you remember when we had that meeting in Orlando? We talked about how we were knocked out the previous year by Leeds. And at the end, I asked you one question. "Do you want to be a semi-final team? Or do you want to do something special?" You all said you wanted to win. But talking is easy – it needed you to believe. It needed you to work hard – harder than you had – and make sacrifices. You did all that. you worked for each other. You stuck together when it was tough. And because of your efforts, you sit here tonight as champions. I'm proud of you. Be proud of yourselves. You've done something special.' Shaun Wane's post-Grand Final speech. 5th October 2013.

I think we already are a second tier club, it's just taking a long time to sink in with us fans. Once we accept this and move on things will get a lot better for us 'cos we won't have such high expectations of our team and thus being disappointed every other week or so won't come as much of a surprise.
