Knowles wins his second appeal, Saints own the RFL

I don't have much of an opinion on what the Knowles incident warrants but what an absolute farce the disciplinary has been this year. You would hope everyone involved will be removed and they start again. You would hope.

Just incredible.

I don’t have words for the disciplinary anymore. It’s going to drive people away from the sport if it continues because even though I know it’s total incompetence and not favouritism, not everyone will think like that and will instead look elsewhere for entertainment.

Yep, looks like utter pot luck on whether you pick up a ban or not.

Couldn't really care less about the GF now we're not in it but for a panel to find him guilty another panel to uphold the decision and then a third panel to come along and say sorry you've got it completely utterly wrong is just embarrassing for the sport

So on the basis of that decision, I can coach teams to twist the arm back just enough to hurt a player but not put them in great danger, knowing it’s ten mins in the bin at best.

Fair play to Saints, they’ve played Russian Roulette and got away with one massively. However, it must be said there’s no wonder the sport is a laughing stock to outsiders looking in. Imagine this happening in Premier League football?!



FWIW, I don’t think it changes the game on Saturday that much and I’m still looking forward to it massively. A boost for Saints but more motivation for Leeds.

The crazy thing is 2 games was actually getting away with it. I’m not sure what this classes as. It actually feels like Knowles should be a bit sheepish about playing. You could tell with his reaction on Saturday that he knew he’d cost himself a place in a Grand Final. He just looked like he was thinking ‘wtf have I done’ and then this.



On the plus side if this doesn’t lead to a reform of the whole set up/process, nothing will!

Crazy isn’t it?! Anyone who has been involved or played in RL would say that what Knowles did was very, very naughty and much worse than Bateman’s head explosion on Friday. I don’t think any Saints fan could say this is the right decision with a straight face, but fair play to Woolf et al in recognising the spineless disciplinary and even chancing it!



What I will say is that it does, in a strange way, make me want to watch the game more; it’ll spur Leeds on I’m sure.
