More experience and leadership is a must IMO. Leeds and Wire have have many leaders with experience post 30, they have undoubtedly contributed to their success this season, both teams making it to both finals.

This is why I am a bit puzzled why we didn't give Fielden a new deal.

I won't claim to be in the know but I would assume someone, rumoured Wakefield, have offered him a 2+ year deal and maybe we've told him that we'd only consider a 1 year deal. I would have liked to have seen him stay and I'm sure all things being equal he would have stayed at Wigan but he's looking after his best interests.

We didn't have enough room under the salary cap.

I am sure that sort of thing must come into it but when you look at the lack of experience in our pack doesn't that push Fielden's value to us up more?

People are quick to point out some of our half back signings are the best that is available, well I don't see many experienced props available either.

How come with the likes of Tommy, Finch, Lima and Carmont leaving?

Possibly but if he's been offered a couple of years elsewhere it would be foolish of us to match that offer at this stage in his career.

We've been down this route before with us not expecting any announcements and then we ended up with Finch, Lima and Hoffman. Let's just wait and see what happens when all of our signings are announced. There was a rumour that we were chasing an NRL prop.

Not this late in the year. The Melbourne 3 were announced in July.

The point is we've only announced 1 signing for next season, Blake Green, obviously Taylor is strongly rumoured and maybe the signings of Thornley and Smith late on in the season could be considered next years signings but I'd like to think we'll have at least 1 more up our sleeve.

At least four of the very talented U18's will have contract extensions announced soon.

Why? The point I am trying to make is while it would be foolish to match a two year deal if we had viable alternatives the fact we seemingly don't makes him a more valuable player.

We've been down this route before with us not expecting any announcements and then we ended up with Finch, Lima and Hoffman. Let's just wait and see what happens when all of our signings are announced. There was a rumour that we were chasing an NRL prop.

Well I hope that is the case because if it isn't our pack leader will be Lauaki!
