If it ever came off, would love to know if it was a IL or Noble signing.

It if ever came off, you could blame both. It's already been said that all new signings are discussed first.

No doubt those who dislike Noble would use it as a bat to beat him with and likewise with IL. Those who dislike both would have an absolute field day.

I know we tried to sign him last year (or it was rumoured so) but I doubt if they failed once they'll try again. But tbh if they are I won't complain :)

Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.

What are we doing trying to sign McGoldrick?????????????
He isnt the class of player we should be chasing, if IL has any sense about him he will make our team full of academy produced players with a few British signings and 2 or 3 superstar Aussie/Kiwis. Not flooding the squad with average bilge.

There are new rumours about you signing Ryan McGoldrick, one source says that he will be a Wigan player by the end of this week, is this just rumour or is there any truth in it. The story is that Noble is offering Price and Mather in exchange.

It would more likely be Phelps and Mathers TBH.....Pryce is a long term project for us i cant see us selling him when nowt has happened yet. Plus getting phelps out would actually free up the quota spot needed if we were gonna sign him....

There's been no proof that we are.

Remember, there were long-running rumours linking us with MoiMoi, Ryles, Lockyer, SBW etc. I appreciate that this one is less palatable than those, but it's still nothing more than a rumour.

No doubt if it's ever finally quashed, the spin from over the Pennines will be that we offered two or three players for him, and cash, but that he loves it so much in Cas that he turned us down. Rather like the spin we got re. Richard Moore.

I think McGoldrick is a cracking player personally, but his signing were it ever to materialise would be another very short sighted decision im the same way as Phelps.

McGoldrick has just signed a new deal at Cas, four years I think.
So we'd have to pay a massive transfer fee and he'd take up a quota spot.
That we're even be rumoured to be interested beggars belief!

SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.

For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.

Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row

Why on earth would we want to sign players like that anyway, if thats the quality of player we are trying to sign, we may as well give up this season.

I think he's a decent player.

Do you remember when we were trying to sign Damien Blanch and all this he's not good enough for Wigan cr@p came up.

His performances in the World Cup should have put an end to that.

Please no McGoldrick! We have Sam Tomkins to play 6 already at our club! Plus either Smith or Tommy to play 7!

Please no IL! If Smith is going at the end of the season lets see where we are in terms of cap space with the departure of

Mathers
Coley
Phelps
Bailey
Smith

I also heard we were very close to signing Manly's 6 Bailey, who's the brother of our Phil Bailey.
