We are season ticket holders, we dont buy match day tickets.

Forget what it says on the ticket, you do not start throwing punches at a rugby game. Everyone is there to enjoy themselves and not feel threatened by incidents like this.
When will people start to behave like responsible adults and realise that there are consequences to every action that you take instead of blaming everyone or anything else, grow a pair, accept the punishment and move on.
Just sorry that it was not in the west stand near us, there are a few big lads around who would have happily sat him down in his seat before it all got out of hand.
With a little luck he will be prosecuted and never grace the DW again.

Read the terms and conditions on that then. It says much the same thing. Moreover, I find it quite alarming that you are trying to defend someone assaulting a match steward. Bizarre.

T&C of season tickets say you will comply with the terms of entry. Terms of entry say you will comply with ground regs. Ground/stadium regs (per website) states

19. Persons failing to comply with instructions from a steward or Police Officer or other authorised agent of the Club will be ejected from the ground.

20. PERSONS ARE ADMITTED TO THIS GROUND SUBJECT TO THEIR ACCEPTANCE OF THESE GROUND REGULATIONS AND THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE / FA PREMIER LEAGUE / RUGBY FOOTBALL LEAGUE. ENTRY TO THE GROUND SHALL CONSTITUTE UNQUALIFIED ACCEPTANCE.

simple answer........(and didnt we once have them at the back of the south?).........employ half a dozen trained doormen.

they are trained to deal with drunks, and in this case they would most likely have calmed him down and noticed his seat was in fact empty...........end of incident

if the guy turned nasty.....it wouldnt have taken half the stewards in the stadium to get him out..............ONE DOORMAN............trained and qualified to restrain him and "escort" him out
