On teletext today IL is not ruling out signing another player during the course of the season.

He says that there are no targets as of yet though.

There's a link which basically says the same thing

The bit where he says there are no targets makes it seem to me like it is highly unlikely

If we got anyone I could only see it being a 6 and unless Smith is released(which probably ain't gona happen) I think it would hinder Sam's development

We should even be discussing McGouldrick like it might happen.

We need a prop and a centre if IL can get hold of them. Smith, Mathers, Coley & Phelps must be on shaky ground if the right people became available.

winning like never before. decoys. mouse traps. chicken wings. lollie pops. shepperds. the crusher. grapples. big league. In 1935 The Dragon Slayers as they were known defeated Canterbury bulldogs 91-6, which is still the biggest win in the Club's History. In 1907, the St George district had a club in the Sydney rugby union competition. Interestingly, the team's area was referred to as the 'Illawarra suburbs'. A resolution to form a St George rugby league club was made at a local meeting held in early 1908, but the movement faltered and collapsed. St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. References were found at the time to district teams being called 'The Saints'.the perfect 11

IMO we should not be signing anyone mid-season. Our last signing Cameron Phelps was a poor one and with the emergence of Sean Ainscough Brian Noble and Ian Lenegan have got egg on their face because it makes them look ridiculous for signing a reserve NRL grader who brings nothing to the team that we didn't already have in our reserves and takes up a quota spot as well. I could understand he was cover for Karl Pryce for a season but this season he'll prove a waste. Richie Mathers the same - Why extend these players contracts?

The best signings are not made mid-season. (I add Mr. Fielden to that list). Unless we get a serious injury crisis we should just stick with the squad we have got and concentrate on recruitment for 2010.

Agree with you there

Even if we got someone in the wrong people would be dropped (ainy , sam etc) and there is no chance of the likes of Smith and Phelps being released so I think we should concerntrate on getting a prop, centre and half back for 2010

I think we need to be more choosey on who we sign mid season from now on but i wouldn't rule certain signings out alltogther.

I remember Leeds signing Ali Lauititi mid season and if somebody if a similar quality ever became available i'd hope we'd be in for him.

Agreed that sigings like Phelps are pretty pointless though.
