Yeah but then where does McIllorum fit in? He is a great young prospect and he certainly did his first team oppurtunities no harm tonight.

Agreed

None of the pivots should be dropped on current form

The only change I would like to see would be Prescott for Coley and possibly after a few reserve games Pryce for Bailey

Bailey played well again tonight and has steadied the right side defence.
Keep him there.

Rugby Union: When entertainment just isn't your thing.

Tim Smith wont be leaving the club. Brian Noble wont get too excited about Sam Tomkins. The lad is still only 19 and to play the full season ahead of Tim Smith is a big ask. I've backed him to start games but I wouldn't want too much pressure on the lad.

I got the impression from the interview with Noble at the end of the match that Tim Smith is still part of his plans and just needs a couple of weeks out (IMO) to work on his tackling technique and gain some confidence again.

I would love to see him play in his more natural position at scrum half. Maybe a challenge cup game could be his ticket back into the side? But now with the form of Leuluai, Tomkins and Riddell - it is going to be very hard for him to get back into the squad, unless there is an injury.

This competition for places is keeping everyone on thier toe's. With hardly any player position safe, they know that they are playing for their first team jerseys.

Agreed regarding Tomkins and Smith, but I've got no doubts whatsoever that when the time comes when Tomkins is 18th man, Noble will get ridiculed off the Anti-Noble brigade on here.

If it comes to it that Tomkins is starting to look quiet or tired after a few games then thats when he should be dropped back to the reserves for a bit, but till them signs show he deserves to keep his place.
Christ hes getting praise off Saints fans! That deserves a trophy in itself

winning like never before. decoys. mouse traps. chicken wings. lollie pops. shepperds. the crusher. grapples. big league. In 1935 The Dragon Slayers as they were known defeated Canterbury bulldogs 91-6, which is still the biggest win in the Club's History. In 1907, the St George district had a club in the Sydney rugby union competition. Interestingly, the team's area was referred to as the 'Illawarra suburbs'. A resolution to form a St George rugby league club was made at a local meeting held in early 1908, but the movement faltered and collapsed. St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. References were found at the time to district teams being called 'The Saints'.the perfect 11

Hunt doubt as Lockyer set to sign :wink:We've made K an attractive offer and it's our best offer,'' he said.

Meanwhile Darren Lockyer is a fortnight away from signing a new deal that will keep him at the Broncos for life.

In a major coup for the Broncos, Brisbane's most important player is on the verge of agreeing to a two-year extension.

The contract will keep Lockyer at the Broncos until the end of 2011 - closing the door on the prospect of the Brisbane skipper quitting the club to play in England.

KARMICHAEL Hunt's contract saga has taken a dramatic twist with his management insisting the star fullback will not be railroaded into signing a new million-dollar deal with Brisbane.
The Broncos turned up the heat on Hunt last Tuesday by asking the former Test custodian to make his intentions clear before this Friday night's season opener against North Queensland at Suncorp Stadium. http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/s ... 66,00.html

Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know
