I will be very disappointed if this is true. The club stood by him and I hope that he will repay that faith in him. I know that's it's a short career and he has a family to provide for but hopefully he does see his long term future with club.

Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.
If it proves to be true that Flower is heading for the NRL I wouldn't be too bothered assuming we have a quality replacement lined up. Liam Watts for example. Failing that I think we would need to look to the NRL.
We can't let him go without a suitable replacement of quality, not a project.
Flower was disappointing for me last year apart from towards the end of the year, I was his biggest fan but a change a scene may be good for him to rediscover some of that fire he seems to have lost.

The fire was back in spades for the last 6 weeks of the season but I'd be sad to see a guy leave us who's given us 6 weeks decent service after costing us a Grand Final tbh.
If he does go I wouldn't be expecting a replacement of any sort of standing.

We can't keep relying on the kids, surely?

You'd hope not but we either do that or buy a project to build up who may be ready in 2 or 3 years (aside from bringing ready made players back to the club)
I see Flower as our prop leader and our best player in that position. He had a rocky few months when he came back but he was better then ever at the end of last year. To lose him would be a massive blow and to replace him with a player as good at this point in the off season would be more then difficult (even if we were prepared to spend).

I can't believe that the club would allow him to leave so far into the off season, it's barmy! He owes us at least a full season, then he can go!

However, there are reports a number of UK Super League clubs are more than interested in securing the blockbusting centre / second-rower. Rugby League Week's The Mole says "Idris has been in talks with at least two leading British clubs in the hope or resurrecting his career in the UK." "The Panthers aren’t expected to stand in Idris’ way if he gets an offer to play in Britain."
A player with some vertebrae removed and nerve damage? Who'd take this punt?
